*we're back to Lukas' POV
At 6:00 in the morning, Lukas was walking three blocks over to Raven's house.
They went to school together on Fridays. Sometimes Raven picked him up at his house and drove them to school, but sometimes Lukas (when he felt like actually doing something called exercise) would walk over to Raven's house, so that they could chat for a bit before they drove over to school.
Fridays were the only day his mother couldn't drive him to school, since she had earlier shifts at her workplace.
Raven's windbreaker was tucked under one arm as Lukas arrived at Raven's house.
Huffing and puffing, he took a second to catch his breath. Despite his height and build, he was not at all athletic. Noooooo. He would rather eat worms than ever do sports. It was a problem, really.
Lukas should really learn from Raven— the literal icon of a walking ball of energy. There was never a day where Raven wasn't running or bouncing, or playing basketball.
He pushed the iron gates and entered the Gwon property, walking up the stone path to the mansion.
He rung the doorbell, and a second later Raven opened the door.
"Here's the windbreaker I borrowed." Lukas held it out.
Raven raised his eyebrows. "Oh, I forgot that you borrow it. You could've just kept it. I have waaaay too many jackets anyway. And Eun-sun would just bring tons more from his work."
"Just take it." Lukas sighed.
Raven laughed and did indeed take it. Then he tossed it aside on the floor.
"I'll pick it up later." He said dismissively.
"You can pick it up now."
"Why."
"Just pick it up."
"Ugh, alright, alright! Quit glaring at me!"
Raven huffed and took the jacket off the floor, hanging it up on one of the hooks of the coat rack by the door.
"Hey, it's better for you to pick it up now, than later and face Eun-sun's wrath. I just avoided death yesterday. I'm not having my bestie die today." Lukas joked.
Raven laughed. "Oh, right. You're alive." He commented.
"I am." Lukas smiled.
"And you're earlier." Raven sighed.
Lukas eyed him. "Yup. You're, like, half dressed for school."
Raven was wearing a white shirt, but also pajama bottoms.
The dark-haired boy blushed but waved it off. "Eh, I still have, what, thirty minutes to get ready."
It was then that Lukas noticed it.
Red spots dotted Raven's shirt sleeve.
"Don't ask." He sighed when Lukas pointed it out.
"It's ketchup. It exploded on him when he opened the bottle earlier." Eun-sun informed Lukas as he came up from behind his brother.
Raven pouted. "Ey, don't reveal all my secrets."
Lukas laughed. "Ketchup? Seriously? What is up with you two always having red food on your clothes?"
I really should get used to it. I mean, why was I even surprised yesterday? Eun-sun even had a day where he had red paint all over his face and pants. Now, that was an epic scare.
"Oh, you know. Red foods are just attracted to us. We must be walking magnets for them." Eun-sun said casually.
"Yeah. Definitely attracted to them. I even threw a tomato at his face!" Raven smiled, talking like he'd done something amazing.
Lukas sighed. "Raven, dude."
"What? He deserved it! C'mon, it was seriously funny." Raven said smirking.
"Not funny." Eun-sun muttered.
"Just get ready for school. It's already 6:10. You have twenty minutes to get ready. And we have the next thirty minutes after that to actually get to school. Who said it was a good idea to live thirty minutes away from our school?" Lukas asked.
Raven laughed. "Dunno, but sure. I'll get ready."
He went up the stairs and Eun-sun shook his head. "Luke, can you make sure Raven actually gets ready and doesn't, like, sleep in again?"
Lukas nodded, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Oh, uh, sure. But, uh... Would you mind not calling me 'Luke'?"
Eun-sun looked surprised. "Oh, yeah, sure. Why though? Raven calls you that all the time. Should he not too?"
Lukas flushed red. "Oh, no! I'm totally okay with Raven calling me 'Luke'! It's just that.... I only let Raven call me that. It's been our thing since we were little."
"Ohhhh, I see how it is." Eun-sun smirked, and the uncanny resemblance between him and his brother showed.
"It's not— I mean—" Lukas cut himself off. "I'll go see if Raven's getting ready." He said, nearly flying across the hall and up the stairs.
He heard Eun-sun chuckling as he left.
