Lukas sniffled, but this time he had a smile on his face.
"You really are the world's most amazing, brilliant best friend. I really would be rotting in a pit of mud if it weren't for you." He said.
Raven laughed. "Oh really? That would be a sight to see."
Lukas smiled, but then it faded.
"To be honest, earlier, I had this fleeting thought. I felt jealous of you, yet I wanted you to comfort me and solve all my issues. I really did feel pathetic at that moment." He admitted.
"Oh, Luke..." Raven said sadly. Then he offered a smile. "I don't know what more I can say to make you believe— really believe— you aren't pathetic, BUT! I will say this."
He locked eyes with Lukas.
"I promise I will be there for you, no matter what. You can tell me anything and everything, or you can choose not to if you don't want to. I won't ever force you. I will always be there to hug you and reassure you, and maybe I can't really fix your issues, but I'll try my best." He said.
And Lukas burst into tears again, but it was happy ones. "See! You're proving my point! You always know what to say!"
Raven chuckled. "Maybe. But I really am serious."
Lukas sniffed. "I know. And you can tell me anything too, you know?"
"Of course I do, dummy." Raven smiled. "You're my best friend and you'll be forever."
