I made sure my security stuck by and walked into the nostalgic high school.

I saw many familiar faces, I saw Alessia. With a ring on her finger.

Even Cora, she's pregnant.

I made my way to the only person I really cared about.

I wondered how she was doing since we broke up.

Dakota and I broke up because we had some differences in our occupations that set us back.

"Dakota"

She turned around and her eyes widened.

I've become a bit more attractive if I must say so myself.

"Oh wow"

She was wearing a red satin dress and black heels.

Her black curls hung loosely over her body.

She was stunning of course.

Griffin walked up to us.

He was wearing a brown suit with a black shirt.

He kissed Dakota's left hand which gave me a perfectly good view of the ring.

My brother was engaged to my ex.

"There's the NFL player! Come join us"

I nodded with a fake smile and followed them to their table.

Austin was there with his wife Lani, Javon with Ava, and Liam with Layla.

I was the only one without a date.

"Hey Ethie boy! Where's Ruby? Haven't you guys been hanging out recently"

He gave me a wink and Dakota turned to me.

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"Yes, you do, I saw her at your game."

"AUSTIN SHUT UP"

He threw his hands up and turned back to his wife.

"Well, Ethan's mad that I stole his ex"

Dakota tensed up and Griffin laughed. He was the only one laughing.

"Well she did want me more"

"She chose me though"

"Well, I give it a year or two"

His jaw clenched and he stood up.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

I stood up and he punched me.

He actually punched me.

My security moved in but I stopped them.

Within seconds we were on the ground fighting like teenagers.

"Griffin you're acting like a child."

Griffin sat up and turned his head to his fiancé.

She was sitting with her legs crossed. Wine in hand.

"Darling, he's acting like a child."

She cringed at the name and stood up.

"I'm off, I'm meeting with my editor"

Oh right, she's a famous author now.

She's wrote many love stories, and she's rich.

Though, no one here knows because they don't read.

I've done my research, I've bought all of her books and I googled her a couple of times.

She put her glass down and walked by me.

"Dakota"

She turned to me.

"Hm?"

"Let's meet up sometime"

My voice was low and she was the only one who could hear what I said, though everyone was trying to listen in.

She tried to hide her smile but I could tell. She waved and nodded to the security before walking out of the high school doors I'd met her at so many times before.

I was walking down the street trying to find the store I was looking for.

Jennifer has kids now and her daughter is crying over some toy that I have to get for her now.

My hood was up with a hat underneath. I didn't have security with me so I had to go in "disguise".

I was looking down at my phone when I bumped into what felt like a woman's body.

"Oh sorry-"

She's getting married in a week.
