CHAPTER 6 - FAMILY TIES

                                                        I open my eyes slowly and get up from the cold ground I slept on. I turn towards the wall and find that it is 2:05 a.m. I sit on the soft cold bed and hear voices outside the door.

"Young master, Madam Frost,  it's pretty late, please rest. You both have been waiting here outside for the past six hours. If Young Mistress comes out, I will surely take care of her and inform you. Please go and sleep." Anne says.

"How can I, Anne? I need to know if she is alright. My daughter has been through so much. I can understand how she must be feeling. I just want her to be alright." my mom says in a sad voice.

"We don't mind waiting for her all night. She.....changed a lot. She was someone who used to speak her mind and let out her emotions. Now.....she is just stuffing them in and locking herself. I wish she didn't have to go through all the pain. It's fine Anne. We will stay here, you can go and have some rest." Adam says. 

My stomach twists at their words. They were waiting outside, worried and scared about me, while I just shut them out, not even bothering to answer them that I am okay. I am such an idiot. I go towards the door to unlock it, but something stops me. All those years I was alone, flash in my mind. I tighten the grip on the door handle and stop. 

"Madam Frost, young master. Please listen to me. I promise to inform you, once she comes out. I will stay here in your place. So please, listen to me. You both have been standing here without having dinner, without moving from this place for six hours. You both have important things to do tomorrow, right? Please think about them. You have loads of work to do. If you strain yourself now, it will effect you tomorrow." Anne says gently.

My mom sighs.

"Please tell us if she comes out...Anne" my mom says softly.

"I will" Anne says.

"Adam, we need to get back to work too. Our kingdom has a lot of problems that we need to deal with." my mom says seriously to Adam.

I hear footsteps going away and I sigh.

All of them must've left. I hear my stomach growling uncontrollably. I feel extremely hungry. With no option left, I open the door and look either side of the long corridor. No one is present. My stomach growls again loudly. My hunger just keeps increasing with each passing minute.

"Hungry?" I hear a voice behind me which startles me. Anne.

"Why do you always have to startle me from behind?" I ask her.

"Sorry, Young Mistress. It was not my intention." Anne apologizes and bows to me.

"You don't have to do that" I say feeling uncomfortable and awkward.

"Let's go inside and speak. I will go and get your food." Anne says.

"You are not going to inform mom and Adam?" I ask her.

"I will, once I speak to you while you eat." Anne says and I go back to my room and close the door.

I stroll around my room, taking my time to explore it. My room has various shades of lavender ranging from dark to light. I open the bathroom which is in front of the bed and stand in shock at its size. The bathroom is large enough to fit a one bedroom house. At the center is an elegant bath tub, with the toilet to the right side. There is a huge mirror decorated with lights and a sink behind the bath tub. To the right side, there is a large shower enclosed in glass. The whole bathroom is bright with lights and smells pleasant like rose and jasmine. I come out of the bathroom and to my left there is a sliding door leading to a huge closet. Beside the bed to the extreme right, there is a wooden table and chair. There is a huge window made of sliding doors beside my bed. I look at the sky which is pitch black with few stars. Such a huge room. The house I lived before is nothing compared to the mansion I am living right now.
