So over a year, huh..? I'm so sorry. I'm trying to come back to this, I promise that I didn't just completely abandon this.

When I returned to work, I was assigned a case quickly and Mrs Celestine smiled.

"As always, come to me if you need help. Or Artem, alright?" "I know. Thank you Mrs Celestine." She nodded and left after.

I reviewed the file and noted down what I believed to be important.

"Missing persons and believed homicide..." I sighed before getting up. I simply left to the station with the documents and spoke to the attendant.

"Is Captain Morgan busy?" I asked and she reached for the phone but he spoke.

"No need. I'm right here. What do you need?" I was surprised and looked before showing him the file. "If you could, can you tell me more details?" He opened it before nodding. I followed him back to his office and he spoke as I sat down and he prepared a cup of coffee.

"That is a previously believed cold case. However, we had an anonymous tip given to us that the victim's body is buried in a shallow grave near the Central Business District. The fact we got this tip a month after announcing it a cold case is strange... We checked, being sure to keep it from public view, before it was found to be true. Their cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head, specifically the temple, though there are other wounds too. It appears to be a building hammer, which puts the main suspect to be a construction worker who was working late at night roofing a new coffee shop."

I nodded and marked down the cause of death, burial location, weapon approximation, and suspect.

"It says here that the victim is a Danielle Porter. Isn't she a well known fitness model on social media?" He nodded and spoke.

"That's the weird thing. Her case became a cold case when nobody could find any clues after two months. The public was desperate to try to find clues." I nodded and mumbled.

"If it's a shallow grave, she should've been found earlier. Especially because of how close it is." He nodded and I sighed as I marked down what I thought was important.

"I'd like to go investigate the crime scene." He nodded and the door opened.

"Hey, Officer Darius- Oh, you're here too." I looked and smiled slightly. "Hello Luke." Captain Morgan sighed and spoke. "Could you at least knock?" "You never usually meet with people, so I didn't think I needed to. What are you doing here?" He asked me and I kept the file from him before Captain Morgan spoke.

"Luke is a good detective here. He can be trusted with the case." I hesitated but nodded and let him see.

He flipped through it before his eyes went dark.

"Are you going to investigate?" I nodded and he spoke. "Let's go. I'll help." I was surprised but Captain Morgan nodded and stood up. "Let's go." I nodded and we walked there since it was really close.

We crossed the police tape as normal people tried to go through and see the place. I sighed as they complained with us passing through but we just ignored them.

When we checked it, I checked the body quickly.

Her knees and forearms were shattered. She also had bruises around her chest.

Luke was holding a device to the topsoil and I looked at him.

"Luke? What are you doing?" "Checking the dating on the disturbed soil and the soil under her." I was surprised but nodded.

"Didn't know that was real..." "It's not a common device." "Fair enough." I nodded and he mumbled.

"This was changed a week ago..." I nodded and marked it before mumbling. "So the criminal or an accomplice changed the depth of the grave..." He nodded and he sighed.
