Stan POV and time skip to after school.

I walked into the music department with Clyde, Wendy and Red. I was bored and realized Kyle had orchestra practice after Clyde had asked if I wanted to watch with them. We could hear different instruments coming from the mini not very well soundproofed music rooms, we walked past the big music classrooms and headed into the theatre room that shared a door to the theatre department.

"HEY GUYS" Clyde shouted out to Tolkien who was speaking with Bebe and Heidi. They turned and waved at us all. I awkwardly walked over, the girls started talking about the next recital and what music they would be playing. Clyde was excitedly rambling on about something to Tolkien, I wasn't really listening. Where's Kyle?

"Kyle's in music room 2 by the way Stan, he seemed in a weird mood though" Tolkien seemed to have read my mind somehow, motherly instincts, I guess. I raced out of the theatre and started to look at the doors until I found music room 2. Kyle was standing in the middle of the room holding his trombone in his right hand and using his other to start something on his phone. I sat in the chair next to the door, he hadn't noticed me yet.

He played whatever was on his phone, took a deep breath and started playing his trombone beautifully. The sounds of a piano played through his speaker as he played alongside it. I remembered this music; Kyle had been practicing it at one of our hang outs when we were like 12.

*Flashback time*

"Ky, come play some games dude" I whined as he started setting up his stuff to play. "No Stan, I need to practice this, South Parks Junior Orchestra only accepts the best. I want to play my favorite recital piece for them" He smiled at me despite the fact he had just told me off. I smiled back.

"Fine, let's give your piece a listen then" I said, he smiled brightly and positioned his trombone before I started the music. He messed up a lot that day, considering he hadn't practiced it much yet. About a month later it was time for him to audition for the Junior Orchestra, I remember Craig and Tweek auditioned too. Kyle was devastated when he didn't get in.

"Ky it's alright, there's always next year. You chose one of the hardest trombone pieces there are, and you did really well" I said trying to comfort him. "But I didn't do well enough!" He cried a lot that night. What was worse was the orchestra lost its funding the year after so the only orchestra/band left in South Park was the high school one, which Kyle did sign up for immediately.

*Flashback ends*

I smiled as I watched him play it perfectly, it was called Ballade by some Buzza guy if I remember correctly. It was beautiful. Kyle looked amazing as he played, his curls bounced as he hit the harder parts of the piece, his body moving flawlessly as he moved the longer part of the trombone. Sue me I don't know the trombone; I barely know the guitar and I've spent like 8 years playing it.

I was gazing at him as the piece came to an end. As he finished, he just stood there, breathing in and I assume smiling to himself as he played that with no hiccups. I applauded him, making him jump and turn sharply.

"Stan!" He exclaimed "What are you doing?!" I smiled and stood up. I walked over to him and pulled him into a big hug. "You played it perfectly." I said softly. Kyle just stood there before slowly raising his arms to wrap around me. We stayed like this for a while before I felt him start shaking slightly. "Kyle are you alright?" I asked.

He pulled away from me and I could see tears falling down his face. "Why are you doing this to me Stan? It's so obvious that I like you, but you never seem to acknowledge it at all and keep doing these things that make me fall for you again every time." He spluttered out, I couldn't say anything. "Why can't you just make it easy for me and let us just be bros, why do you have to cuddle me and say my name in your sleep and then vomit in the morning when you realize what you've done?!"
