As Glacier and his son's Blizzard and Spruce left, Maple started to get hungry so she trotted away to find something to eat.
She came across a deer herd that wasn't very large, but it had lots of deer. She noticed that one of the does was pregnant, so that would be the deer that she'd hunt.
Maple got close to the ground as she crept towards the deer herd, taking care not to step on anything that would make noise.
She then was close to the doe and sprang up from where she was stalking, and began to chase the deer. She then jumped on the doe's back and bit the back of her neck, breaking it with a resounding crack.
The doe feel down dead as the rest of the deer herd kept running. Maple howled, happy that she hunted down the doe.
As she started eating, Spruce showed up, and was looking at her in a questionable way. Maple growled a little bit, not wanting Spruce to take her hard earned deer for himself.
Instead, Spruce took off one of the deer hd legs and walked away. Maple tilted her head, wondering why Spruce would do that. She decided not to think much about it as she continued to eat her deer.
