The same afternoon, Blizzard and Spruce came back home with the rest of the cow elk they hinted the previous hour.
Then they went back out so they could mark their territory. This time the wolf brothers brought their sister Birch with them as they trotted out into the forest.
First, they scratched the bark on the trees, leaving their claw marks on them.
Then they did their business on the ground near the trees, and just before they were about to head home, Spruce saw another juvenile wolf.
The wolf was a male and he was gray with black streaks in his fur. Even though he was a juvenile wolf, he was pretty big.
His name was Scartooth, and he was almost as tall as a young male wolf. He was standing on a log, watching them from the bottom of the hill.
The three young wolves walked down the plant covered hill as they stood in front of him. He looked down at them as he then turned and left.
