Hope Found in Ice and Flames

Chapter 23

Villains.

Everyone woke up at the butt crack of dawn to train, seeing as this is a training camp. The students of classes 1-A and 1-B trained with specialized strategies to fit people's quirks. The trainers: the Wild Wild Pussycats, were 'brutal' with their training. Nearly every student complained while others just complied in silent agony. Some students with only strength and endurance quirks were trained with Tiger to make their bodies stronger.

The training went on for hours until lunch came around, where the students had to cook their own meals. "Wow Bakugo, you're really good with that knife.." "So?" "Well I mean, it's just unexpected is all." "HOW IS IT UNEXPECTED ANYONE COULD BE GOOD WITH A KNIFE!! IT'S EASY!"

Ochako smiled and scratched the back of her neck nervously. "My bad..." looking around, she saw the Todoroki brothers crouched in front of a fire pit chatting while the elder brother lit the fire. She smiled at the two, looking at Izuku's big fluffy hair and entrancing smile. He looked ethereal.

"Oi pink cheeks. What's with you?" The spiky haired boy shoved the brunette by the shoulder gently. She stammered out an apology before getting back to cutting the vegetables at their working table. Katsuki stared at the girl and sighed, going back to cutting the carrots and infront of him.

Once food was ready, everyone was exhausted and scarfing down food. "Augh, this is so good!!! You cooked up this batch right Deku?" Ochako squealed, her face looking like a puffed up chipmunk. Izuku nodded, smiling a bit and wiping some rice off of her face.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!?"
"HAH?! IZUKU WHAT THE HELL-"
"OHHHHH AREN'T THEY SO CUTEEEE!"
"AHHHH!!"

"Wait- Wait hold on, what're you all going on about?!" Izuku screeched, waving his arms around in defense. Ochako sat there cluelessly, her face as red as a blood red cherry.  "AWH GUYS CMON!!!"

{time skip-- I tried to, as accurately as possible, include the actual events in the anime for these few scenes}

It was dark now, everyone was gathered around the wooded area and getting put into groups, Izuku pulled the short straw and ended up alone. The students who ended up doing bad on the exams were excluded from the small event.

Later in the night, during the 'event', Kendo, Kodai, and Honenuki from class 1-B were awaiting more group to scare when Kendo spoke up, "Hey... doesn't it smell like something's burning?" "Eh? Now that you mention it, it suddenly got a little smoky..." Honenuki answered, before collapsing. "Honenuki!" Kendo shouts, causing Kodai to look at the fallen boy.

"Yui! Don't breathe it in!" She yells, covering her mouth and nose then activating her quirk to encase Kodai in her large hand, shielding her from the gas around them. She looked around, panicking as Honenuki questioned if this was the result of Katsuki and Shouto firing their quirks off accidentally. 'This smoke...' Kendo realized, 'It's poisonous!'

{Elsewhere}

Pixie Bob, the blonde-haired heroine, sniffed at the air around her. "Black smoke..." She mumbled. "Is something burning? Could there be a fire on the mountain?" A student asked. Unbeknownst to them, somewhere in the forest a raven-haired fire user was using his power on a tree beside him, setting it and everything around it ablaze. "What's that burnt smell?" "Thats..." suddenly, Pixie Bob was lifted into the air, a pink magical aura surrounding her, "Pixie Bob!" Mandalay yelled, panicking as her partner was dragged back.

Meanwhile, the man burning trees stood with his head lowered, fire surrounding him. 'Now...' He thought, 'It begins...'
