Chapter 19

𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 (𝟏)

The students of class 1-A sat silently in the waiting room, awaiting the announcement of their entry. . . "And last but definitely not least. . ." The students quickly stood up and ran to the entrance of the arena, Izuku letting out his wings and flying above his classmates to be 'extra dramatic', "Class 1-A of the Hero course!" Yamada announced loudly.

The people in the stadium all loudly cheered in excitement as the class walked into the arena proudly, heads held high. Izuku landed on his feet right beside Shoto with a smile on his face. Soon, Nemuri Kayama, also known as pro hero Midnight, walked up to the podium and made a small announcement. "Today, the students of UA will be competing trial after trial to see who's the best of the best! Before the first trial, Izuku Todoroki, the one who placed first in the entrance exam, will come up to the podium and give a speech for his peers!" She announced happily, gesturing out towards Izuku, who was in the crowd of students.

Izuku walked up to the podium, thousands of eyes on him. He stood in front of the mic with a small grin gracing his features. "I just wanna say. . .Do your best, but, I assure you, I'm gonna win." He said, smirking as the crowd went wild and the students erupted into an angry fit while his classmates simply facepalmed.

As Izuku walked off the podium, Midnight was literally speechless for a few seconds. She snapped out of her dumbfounded trance and grabbed the mic, "Well let's get started then, shall we?! We're starting off with an obstacle race! All eleven classes must race four kilometers around the outside of the festival stadium throughout an obstacle course. Students are permitted to use their q as much as they like as long as they don't leave the course. A lucky 42 students will pass on to the next match!" She explained as the students all gathered at the starting line.

"Ready!" Present Mic announced, "Go!"

And with that, the students all quickly started activating their quirk.

{Izuku's POV / Yes, the moment you've been waiting for.}

I watched as the other students all sprung into action. Shoto and Kacchan were the current lead. I could change that. 'One for all, fifty percent.' I said to myself.

I could feel incredible power coursing through my veins at an amazing speed. I got into a pre-running stance before propelling myself forward, running past my fellow classmates and people from other classes. Soon, I spotted the giant zero-pointer robots from the entrance exam.

I smirked and let my wings out at full length, shooting myself into the air and plucking a feather from both wings each. I stab one of the robots in the presumably facial area, then repeat the process over and over until all robots are falling and out of commission.

I take a glance back, seeing Shouto now freezing all of the robots in his path, then quickly melting the ice causing them all to barrel down onto the ground. You could imagine my pure glee when I see Eijiro- ahem, Kirishima emerge from one of the robots screaming "I'm alive!" before I turn my attention back to the task at hand.

I quickly speed through the air, over the pitfall obstacle and to the minefield obstacle where I see Kacchan and Shouto quickly approaching, neck to neck. I grin wickedly, before flicking my fingers near the middle of the minefield, the pressure from my One-For-All causing a huge explosion.

I hear Kacchan yell at me as I cackle and fly off to the finish line. "And Izuku Todoroki- What? He wants me to- Are you sure? Okay, okay, fine, whatever. Izuku Midoriya-Todoroki wins first place! Shouto Todoroki coming in second and Katsuki Bakugou coming in third!" Uncle Hisashi announces loudly, shrugging off Uncle Shouta's brief interruption.
