Chapter 14

A/N: God this angst and tension between Theo and Liam is starting to kill me lmfao, however this is a slow burn so a slow burn you shall get. Also I have two new mini fics if you feel like reading something in between uploads of puppy pack! <3

A/N: four chapters in one week after I said I would update once a week... I lack self control and I can't help myself lol. I mainly said that because I work two jobs and some weeks I will be a lot busier for me!

Corey shook his head, holding his breath before going back under the water. He had been trying to distance himself from the pack for the past few days. Giving himself a break to enjoy to normal things in life, like his best friend.

Elly splashed him with water, "you're suck a dork," she said before going back under.

Her dirty blonde hair completely soaked, sticking to her face as she came back up for air. "Oh yeah? I'm the dork," Corey smiled.

Joining the swim team had always been something Corey had thought of, he wasn't close with his family but he knew what his father thought of him. To cut it short, he was homophobic. Apparently swimming wasn't a man's sport, wasn't masculine enough.

So he tried out for lacrosse but it never felt right, he couldn't quite understand the sport. Nolan and Liam had tried to help him but he just wasn't strong enough. It wasn't his sport, swimming however. That was something Corey excelled at.

Himself and Elly used to swim all the time, considering her parents owned a large property he would always go to hers when they were younger and swim in the lake. Although she would out swim him he still was quite good.

Elly however had been given the opportunity of a scholarship for college. With that she had so many opportunities that would follow it, she could even become an Olympic swimmer if she trained hard enough, her whole life was ahead of her.

"Elly?" He asked when she didn't come up for air, "Elly!" He said louder. Going under water he opened his eyes, the image he saw sent him straight up for air. "No, no-" he said.

Grabbing her unconscious body and swimming with her in his arms to the edge of the pool. "Elly please breathe!" He yelled. An audience of people began to crowd around them as he began to perform cpr, well attempt to anyways.

"Corey?" Elly said, her voice distant and hazy. Corey managed to blink a few times before seeing Elly in front of him.

"What?" He asked with widened eyes, it had been an illusion...

Did that make it a prediction? A few days had passed since Liam's illusion on the roof and he was still alive. Maybe they weren't right about the predictions after all? Maybe Elly would be safe and this creature was just playing with him.

The creature...

Looking behind her in the distance it stood. Corey felt himself freeze up, "Elly we should go" he said. Elly frowned, a small smile appearing on her face as the confusion took over. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Corey shook his head, not taking his eyes of the figure as his hand gripped her shoulder "we need to get out, get out of the water," he said pulling her towards the edge of the pool.

Taking his eyes off the figure for a moment to see where the ladder was a static noise rang through his head. Looking up the figure stood above the ladder, Corey felt his heart drop as he looked at it.

None of them had been so close to it before, it's white face was almost sunken in? Corey couldn't tell, it's long black suited body sent chills down Corey's spine. It's tentacle like arms moved around it ever so slowly as if daring Corey to move.
