Chapter 18

"Let me help you," she spoke, her sweet voice captivating Nolan as he turned around.

Gun in his hand as he loaded the bullet inside of it "you can't-" he said.

Her hands reached out "please don't do this," she said. Nolan shook his head with a tear stained face, "I-I have to! I'm making everything worse!" Nolan cried out.

"You're not! Let me help you..." she said taking several steps forward noticing the gun slowly rising. "Nolan please..." she whispered watching as he pressed the gun to his temple.

With tears streaming down his face, he pulled the trigger. "No!" She screamed, suddenly everything faded black. Her eyes whipped open and she sat up, looking around and realising she was still in bed.

"Fuck-" she groaned, rubbing her face with her hands.

"Davina are you okay?" Her mother asked, her blue eyes met her mothers and she sighed.

"Fine mum, go to sleep," she said quietly.

Her mother eyed her cautiously before nodding, exiting the room leaving Davina alone. Her blue eyes travelled around the room until she laid eyes on the piece of paper. The one that would seem Theo's fate if she didn't stop it...

"What the hell..." Nolan gasped staring at Hayden laying at his feet.

"She's fine don't worry," Brett snapped, his nostrils flaring as he eyed his sisters body.

"I'll get Melissa," Nolan said, only leaving when Brett nodded.

Brett dropped to his knees, pulling Lori into his arms. Her scent filling him with peace but his heart was aching. His sister was gone, the only family that he had left was gone.

He glared at Hayden with a furious look, everything inside of him begging him to kill her. Screaming at him to end her life, rip out her heart and use it as a lacrosse ball. She killed Lori.

She deserved to die.

"Oh Jesus," a voice said, Brett turned to see Melissa standing at the door. "Is she okay?" Melissa asked looking at Hayden.

Brett shrugged, "I don't care about her right now," he stated. Melissa nodded, with Brett's help they lifted Lori onto a bench.

"Is anyone going to clue me in on what's been going on?" Melissa asked, her hand on her hip.

Nolan and Brett shared looks, "we can't," Brett said knowing Liam wouldn't want her to know.

Despite their differences he still respected Liam and he respected his choices. "I'll make sure she is taken care of," Melissa said placing a reassuring hand on Brett's arm, the beta nodded.

Melissa rolled the bench out of the room, Brett watched as his sister was taken from him. "I'm sorry..." Nolan whispered.

"It's not your fault-" Brett stated.

Nolan nodded, "I'm sorry for my part... I didn't know- I shouldn't have done it," Nolan said softly, his eyes averted to the ground.

Brett cupped his face, "I know who's to blame, it wasn't you." Brett said.

He heard Hayden begin to stir, "let's go," Nolan said sensing Brett's tension and not wanting a full-blown fight to break out. Brett couldn't resist the small growl he let out, "please," Nolan pleaded.
