Chapter 27

Almost 3am and Theo had finally returned home, stressed and exhausted he entered the house. Trying his best to remain quiet as he walked up the stairs, hoping to not wake Liam up.

Upon entering the bedroom he wasn't surprised to see Liam asleep in his bed. He immediately noticed that the beta was wearing his shirt, he didn't want to disturb him.

Turning he was about to enter his room when Liam let out a soft groan, he turned to see the betas eyes barley open. "Teddy..." he said softly, Theo couldn't help but smile. "You came back," he said, Theo's heart twisted.

"Of course I did," he said taking Liam's hand in his own and gently rubbing it "I'd always come back to you." he said trying to reassure him.

"You better," Liam said with a small pout before pulling Theo into bed. "Where did you go?" Liam asked, nuzzling into Theo's body.

Resting his head on the chimera's chest, "I just needed some time to think, that's all." Theo said. Except Liam caught the small twitch in his eye as he said it. Although his heart rate was steady, Liam knew Theo better then anyone. He knew when the chimera was lying to him, too tired to interrogate him...he let it go.

"Goodnight little wolf," Theo said softly, loving the way Liam's eyes fluttered as he began to fall back asleep.

"Goodnight teddy," Liam said, with his hands fisted in Theo's shirt.

Theo rested his chin on Liam's head, he knew what he did was necessary. He did it for Liam, to help him. He knew if Liam found out he probably wouldn't be happy he went behind the betas back, but he wanted to make sure he was right first.

No point in getting Liam's hopes up if he was wrong, the conversation went well but it didn't exactly tell Theo what he needed to know. He would have to meet up with them again, the sooner the better.

After falling asleep Liam felt a thrashing beside him, it was Theo. He opened his eyes and turned around, "hey..." Liam whispered. Sitting himself up he gently shook Theo, he was having a nightmare.

Liam could smell his fear, it radiated through the room. As well as Theo's panting and heavy breathing, Liam's heart sunk. He hated this, he felt helpless. He hated watching Theo go through this, he knew it was because of his time in hell.

He hated that he didn't get him out of there sooner but he also knew it had been necessary at the time. "Hey, Theo-" he said gently nudging him, when Theo didn't respond he shook him again.

Theo jolted, immediately sitting up with his hand over his chest. Looking around with panicked eyes until he met Liam's worried one's, "you're okay, you're safe." Liam said placing a hand on Theo's shoulder only for the chimera to push him back.

"You did it too..." Theo said, he felt frozen. Frozen in fear, his heart rate continued to escalate as he looked around the room.

"What?" Liam asked confused, watching as Theo slipped out of bed and shook his head.

"You did it too, you-you shoved your hand in my chest..." Theo snapped, his eyes full of fear. Liam got out of bed, taking a few cautious steps towards Theo. But with every step he took closer, the chimera took one back.

"You did it too, when you were possessed..." Theo said shaking his head, he wasn't thinking clearly. His mind felt fuzzy and his breathing became panicked, "you did it, you did the same thing she did."

Liam looked down, "you didn't tell me that...." He said softly.

"Why would I? I-I couldn't tell you that but now, fuck it doesn't matter now does it?" Theo snapped, running a hand through his hair as he began to pace back and forth.
