Ch.36 [ Gods, Devils, School 4 ]

'We were getting a bit worried, William-san.' Grayfia announced as she appeared from the Gremory magic circe.

'Well, sorry. I was just lazing around and learning some random things.' William lightly smiled as Grayfia looked around his house.

'The house is quite clean... There is nothing to do here. Would you mind if I set up a defensive formation?' Grayfia asked as a few magic circles already appeared atop her hand.

'Sure. Also, its possible to teach me some Magic? Right?' William asked as Grayfia placed few Magic Circles around the house.

'Well... there exists a minimal problem.' Grayfia lightly said and kept calm. William only turned his head lightly as Grayfia took out a book from some sort of spatial storage?

'Human Magic, and Devil Magic is quite... different to put lightly. Human Magic is based on Mathematics, and similar things. While Devil Magic uses pure Imagination.' She explained and passed the book to William.

'Then... how about you show me something? I can try to copy it?' William asked as she looked a bit confused. But quickly composed herself.

She extended her hand as an icy blue magical circles appeared and released a small "Blizzard", or in better word... just basically cold wind.

'I do not wish to destroy your house, so I limited myself to bare minimum...? What are you doing?' Grayfia asked as William stood next to her and extended his hand towards the same direction.

'It flowed... like this!' William closed his eyes as from his hand ice cold air released towards same direction. But for him, no Magic Circle appeared as he copied completely how the "Devil Energy" or "Devil-attuned Mana' flowed. 

'This is! Don't Humans require years to even learn basic Ma-' These thoughts invaded Grayfia's mind, as she remembered Sirzechs comment...

As the ice cold wind intensified, the temperature dropped quite noticeably.

William finally stopped and looked at his arm.

'This isn't exactly how I use Mana... but it must be racial difference.' Thought William as he noticed his ring-necklace is no longer hidden.

He took it and quickly hid it under the shirt.

'So... how was that?' William asked as Grayfia stared surprised.

'Can you try... this?' She took out her hand as a small fireball appeared atop a magic circle.

William observed this, as he smiled and copied it completely... albeit due to his "Affinity with Fire", it became larger, brighter and hotter...

'Wait... we shouldn't massively decrease the temperature and then heat it up.' William said this as he turned his fireball off instantly.

'Why?' Grayfia asked curiously.

'Well, if big amounts of Cold Air suddenly meet Hot Air... then a combustion could happen.' William explained as Grayfia nodded... but something didn't seem to stick together.

'But... there were many cases where Fire Spells met Cold Domains.' Grayfia asked as William nodded.

'But this is a completely closed building. No way for cold air and hot air to go around, which in this turn would lead to combustion.' William explained as Grayfia took the book and opened it on first page.

'This one, try using this one from the book.' She pointed at spell dubbed as "Water Control".

William read it... as it explained how it is supposed to work in "Devilish".

'Amp.... Fortune...' He spoke calmly as a green bracelet appeared on his hand and William could feel nearly half of his Aura be consumed instantly.

As he tried using the Water Control from the book, giant amounts of water gathered around his arm.

'What... is this?' Grayfia asked as she could feel... strange sensation and some sort of awe while looking at the bracelet.

'Oh that? One of my Semblances.' William calmly answered as he moved the water slowly to the sink in kitchen.

'S.. Semblance? What is it?' Grayfia asked curiously as a small notepad and pen appeared in her hands.

'Its power from my second life... First you need Aura, and then after some time, or in specific circumstances you awaken a Semblance... And they can be both positive and negative...' William spoke last part remembering how his freshly created semblance's nearly killed him.

'I see...' She notes everything down as William raises his right hand with both Aura and Mana flowing around it. Creating a perfect symbiosis of White-Purple-Black flowing around.

'But honestly, Aura and Magic feel same! The exact same sensation!' William shouted with excitement as soon Aura disappeared leaving purple Mana... which was continuously overflowing around.

'Shouldn't you feel... Tired?' Grayfia asked with worry in her voice as William only smiled.

'Nope... But I guess this is dangerous on long run, I better hit the bed soon.... Second floor, my room is on left, yours on right. Opposite of each other, end of the hallway.' William calmly told her... even if it was bit of chaotic. She nodded as he ran off to his room and laid there...

'So... She's a good one.' Rune calmly said as her voice resounded in William's head.

'Yup... but what worries me, is that she's not wearing a ring... Which might mean that she's not married to Sirzechs as  she was supposed to be. Which in turn...' William relayed his message to Rune, at which she appeared in his vision and only wondered for a bit...

'That means.... that his Wife. If he has one, she's an enemy?' Rune asked as William calmly nodded.

He calmly laid in his bed as Rune was simply flying above his head... looking at him from time to time...

'What are you worried about?' Rune asked as William gave her a glance.

'I thought... about Three things which can kill/damage us... Ophis the Infinity Dragon, Great Red the Dream Dragon and Trihexa of Sins and Apocalypse... These three have literally infinite mana/energy supply due to DxD. And I don't want for her to waste energy on me.' William explained, remembering that out of those three... One flies around Dimensional Gap, other is sealed and last one walks around in form of small girl.

'That means we can't win against them?!' Rune shouted surprised as William shook his head.

'If I'd get Divinity from few more Gods, and use all my sources to fight. Then we stand chance against Ophis which is the weakest out of the three.' William explained a bit to her, as she visibly calmed down and disappeared.

At the sudden message William smiled, and instantly opened his inventory.

'Sys, start assimilation of Cole Macgrath.' He spoke calmly in his mind as he saw it added, but as per his request. It only showed him the slot where Cole was added.

'Fuck!' This instantly struck him as he remembered something about Infamous series....

'Did something happen?' Asked Rune.

'Except the fact that I need that damn radiation made from device Sebastian Wolf created, then nothing. Until then, my Conduit Gene is not going to work.' William started grumbling under his nose... and went to sleep...
