It has been a week since Clyde asked Taylor to officially be her girlfriend.

Everything has been going so perfectly. Clyde and Taylor have been spending time more frequently, and it honestly feels so much better now that they are official girlfriends. Even Clyde can't believe that she is going out of her house nearly every day.

What they don't enjoy is the constant, playful teasing from Clyde's best friends. Though, if it means that they can sit or walk beside each other, even for a couple of minutes, they will obviously tolerate it. Every moment like that is so important to them.

So important, that almost no person sees Clyde without Taylor, and Taylor without Clyde, especially outside class hours. They are practically stuck to one another, tangled in each other's love, and it usually makes Clyde's friends annoy them even more.

Clyde gets so irritated because of them, which causes her friends to playfully say more teasing words. At the end of the day, Taylor always easily manages to calm Clyde down by whispering things into her ears, obviously incoherent to everyone else.

A part of Clyde slightly hates that Taylor has that power over her, because it causes her to become the subject of more teasing. Even people in some of her classes tease her for it, because they aren't exactly accustomed to seeing Clyde act that way.

Clyde doesn't exactly think it's a big deal, though, simply threatening them lightheartedly and telling them to not mention it again. She definitely isn't going to fight them, especially because she doesn't need people fearing her for something other than her grades.

"Can you walk me home?"

Clyde blinks at Taylor, who is standing in front of her, holding the door to her open locker. She watches Taylor slightly tilt her head to the side, wordlessly asking for an answer, and Clyde rapidly shakes her head to clear her thoughts, slightly stuck in them.

Well, it isn't her fault that her mind stops working whenever Taylor is next to her.

Honestly, that has started to become an utter inconvenience. Clyde thinks it's because her mind can't completely fathom that she really is dating the most beautiful girl she has ever seen, and it's constantly trying to search for reasons why Taylor is even with her.

"Maybe. Is your dad gonna be there?"

"Obviously," Taylor laughs at her.

"Yeah... no, thanks, Baby," Clyde chuckles.

She punctuates her sentence by shaking her head, completely certain about her answer. But Taylor closes her locker and inconspicuously interlaces their fingers, catching Clyde's attention and surprising her, even though it's a usual thing they do at school.

"Please?" And Taylor gives Clyde her best puppy-dog eyes.

A playful groan leaves Clyde's lips, "Fine."

Taylor immediately kisses her cheek in response, and Clyde is more than happy to begin her act of pretending to not fear Taylor's father. Clyde briefly smiles in response, already noticing people turn to stare at her, but not Taylor, for some unforeseen reason.

She flushes a deep red, and warmth floods her body as they speedily walk outside. Clyde looks over her shoulder to see a few random students staring, and Clyde seriously tries to not mention it to Taylor. She really isn't used to that kind of attention from people.

Clyde wonders if it's because they aren't really used to seeing gay people in public, or if it's because they are somehow shocked that Taylor is dating a girl. Honestly, Clyde finds both of those options quite odd, and she doesn't understand why people care.
