The shock that overtook Clyde's system was staggering. She almost had to ask Kate to repeat what she had said, simply because she almost didn't believe it at first. And even after letting those words sink into her brain, Clyde still wasn't convinced.

Clyde remembered looking around her surroundings that day. She definitely didn't see phone cameras pointed towards them, and Taylor presumably didn't also. Clyde really doubted that Taylor would've acted that way if she knew that she was being recorded.

She briefly glanced at Taylor as her brain attempted to process everything that Kate told her. Clyde's lips were tightly pressed into a thin line as she steadily exhaled, knowing she still hadn't responded to Kate, and simply left her to listen to absolute silence.

Honestly, Clyde couldn't think of anything that could explain what Kate saw. Clyde had never seen the video, though she could confidently assume that Taylor could be simply heard saying her name and desperately begging her to stay for a moment.

Just visualizing the video made Clyde grimace, and a strong pang of guilt and regret hit her directly in the chest. She hissed, tutting to herself as she rubbed the side of her face. There was no way that this was happening to her right now, in Taylor's bedroom.

Letting go of an exasperated sigh, Clyde clenched her eyes shut. She only had one idea in her head, but it was the dumbest thing she had ever thought of. A breath fell from her lips as she pleaded with the universe to let this go the way she wanted it to.

"Why the fuck would I even fight with Taylor Swift?"

"Stop deflecting," Kate hissed, "Bea and Leo are here, too."

And Clyde could barely stop herself from rolling her eyes. Of course, Kate would call her about this when they were also around. Clyde certainly should've expected this from her closest friends, but now, the only emotion in her body was slight annoyance.

"How can you even say that was me?"

"How many Clydes do you think exist?" was Kate's reply.

And Clyde sat down on Taylor's bed to steady herself. She groaned in annoyance, though she knew that through the phone, it probably sounded more suspicious. It probably didn't help Clyde's case, but the only other thing she could do was to start screaming.

"Okay? Maybe it's just someone who looks like me and has the same name."

"And has a black cat named Coffee?"

"Yeah," Clyde chuckled, glancing at Taylor, who was still sitting on the floor.

There was some shuffling on the other end of the call, and Clyde dragged her gaze away from Taylor. She tilted her head downwards as she waited for Kate to say something else, because she honestly couldn't think of any other unsuspicious explanations.

A part of Clyde definitely wanted to ask Taylor for some help, but she didn't even know if Taylor knew that videos of them existed on the internet. Everything seemed to be perfect right now, and Clyde wasn't sure about destroying that peace by letting Taylor know.

Clyde didn't know how Taylor would react, and that was the only thing keeping her from saying anything. Plus, after what Taylor had nonchalantly mentioned a few minutes ago, she knew that Taylor would possibly start panicking, maybe even kick her out.

Besides, Clyde didn't know why her friends would even think that was her. While they did know Clyde as a hater, there were absolutely no reasons for them to think that she hated Taylor because they knew each other and something had happened between them.

Did they think that she knew Taylor personally?

Well, they would be completely right, and Clyde desperately needed them to never figure that out. Clyde didn't even quite know if Taylor was all right with letting people know that they were somewhat friends again, which made everything more complicated.
