? POV:

Running, I am not sure where or how far, but I was running. My legs ached and my heart raced as I sprinted through the bush and weaved through the endless rows of trees. The snapping branched behind me only making the feeling of impending doom grow more and more apparent. My once clean and highly loved shoes were now scuffed and muddy, but I was in no rush to care as the rushed scurrying seemed to grow closer with each passing moment.

One second, I was going for a walk in the camp's trails after being scolded by the counselors for something stupid, then the next I was sprinting for my life after a knife flew centimeters from my head and landed in the tree behind me. Before I knew it, I was sprinting for my life through the forest's underbrush, cutting through the trails on a straight path toward the main site of the camp.

It was stupid of me to think I was safe to go out alone just because I was on campgrounds, especially with the eyes I constantly felt staring at me. They followed me wherever I went watching my every movement and breath. At the time I believed it was nothing but my imagination, but I was sorely wrong, and now I was paying the price.

My heart raced in my ears as a shaky smile pulled at my lips when I saw the edge of the camp, my lungs burning as I willed myself to run faster, I was so close, it was just right there.

I fell... I fucking fell...

My foot snagged on a tree root, falling face-first into the rocks and mud, knocking the air out of my lungs. Frozen on the ground for a few moments my ears rang as I desperately tried to regain my breath, my lungs screaming for air. Wasting no time, I stumbled back onto my feet with my fingers digging into the mud as I pushed myself off and wobbly tried to run again. Just as I made it to the tree line, I heard a ringing metallic hiss behind me and quickly ducked, but I was too late. The large blade dug into my back and made me fall forward with a thud, my breath once again knocked out of me but this time I could not move.

"Perfect as always Querida"

I could not move my legs and my body was trembling as my chest heaved sporadically in an attempt to breathe, but it was in vain as I felt a thick warmth fill my chest, suffocating me with every breath.

"I've missed hitting moving targets, Mon Cher"

Strangled groans bubbled in my chest, my vision filling with black spots as my ringing ears heard them move closer, the sound of soft scurrying nearing with them.

"Then I will get more moving targets for you, Cara Mia"

My sight soon grew completely black and my hearing fuzzy and muffled, my body feeling incredibly cold and pained until I could not feel anything anymore

? POV:

The finely cut man, clad in a black suit with silver trim with matching gloves, picked up the cold boy and hauled him over his shoulder while the disembodied hand hid all evidence of their presence in the area. His tall and loving accomplice walked with him, her movements fluid as she seemed to glide across the forest's uneven floor, a smile lighting up her ghostly appearance. Once in the middle of the woods, he set the body down, admiring their work as his partner pressed a sweet lingering kiss on his cheek, making him smile brightly.

"Now, to prepare the evidence, would you do the honors, Tish?"
