aether was the main character in every single story. you would always be watching him fight scary-looking monsters. he would always be the one going out on adventures, searching for his sister and searching for the truth. you heard many tales from locals, and whenever they praised aether to the high heavens, you felt your heartstrings tug slightly. his name was in your mind and in your thoughts — his name was burnt into the flesh of your heart and you didnt want it to ever melt away.
you were so proud of him. it was like the biggest flex whenever you told locals that yep, you knew aether personally, and you've been on adventures with him as well as doing crazy fun things together. you always felt like you and him had a strong connection, something a little more than the best friend title you two had between. surely he felt it too.
"y/n, i'm sorry to bother your daydreaming but could you help me carry these?" ayaka asked, and you nodded. before you could go and help her though, aether seemed to swoop in and take some of the boxes off of ayaka's hands.
he smiled. "let me help."
"hey, she asked me!" you protested.
aether stuck his tongue out at you. "well too bad~" then he walked away with ayaka laughing gently. honestly he was always trying to put on a good image whenever he was near ayaka. it was like he was infatuated with the girl or something — but he never told you how he felt about her, so you had no reason to ever think for a moment that he was in love with her or even had the faintest of attraction towards her.
