My excitement was bubbling inside me. Zack finally asked me out on a date. As we sat inside the expensive-looking restaurant I examined its menu with hungry eyes. There were so many options to choose from.
"What do you think about this place, Kiki?" Zack asked.
I turned my attention away from the menu and gave him a bright smile, "I love it. You know how long I've wanted to come here?"
"Since your birthday," he replied, "And now that I am your boyfriend, it is my responsibility to fulfill your every wish."
My smile broadened and soon after, a waitress came to our table. She asked Zack for his order which was 3 steaks, a dozen devilled eggs, three portions of large fries, and a large soda.
"And what about you, sweetheart?" she asked turning to me.
I smiled eager to order their alfredo dish, "I'll have-"
"She'll have a protein salad, a fruit salad and mineral water."
I looked over at Zack with a confused look on my face as the waitress walked away. Why would he do something like that?
"Don't look at me like that Kiki," he sighed, "We both know you've been gaining unhealthy weight and as the future Luna of this pack, you have an image to uphold."
"But-"
"I've always done what's best for you, right?"
I bit my bottom lip, "Yes."
"Then be good and eat what I ordered for you."
I hate salads. I ate so much of them that even the thought of one makes me gag. I never understood Zack's obsession with keeping me fit. Since I've been here, I eat what I want. I've never heard Alaric complain about me gaining weight but then again he's never really seen me eat. During my heat, I survived on cold water and fruits which he fed me to make sure I stayed full.
I peered at him from the corner of my eye as he pulled his car to a stop in front of a small diner. This one was at the edge of the territory, unlike Cece's place. It had a green exterior with vines and three bark adorning the walls. It looked a lot like a fairy-owned establishment.
"This place belongs to a fairy friend of mine," Alaric explained as he got out of the car. He jogged over to my side, opening the door for me before entwining our fingers.
When we entered, the small building appeared to have tripled in size on the interior. The inside was very well decorated as well, with dark walls and flowers everywhere. There were even blue will-o-wisps floating on the ceiling.
"Wow," I mumbled earning a chuckle from my mate.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
"Uh huh."
