The following morning Midori-ko was in her garden when Gohan walked outside in his new dark blue gi.
" Good morning mom." Gohan walks over stretching his arms
" Morning." She was preoccupied with picking the fresh tomatoes
" Your tomatoes are looking great mom." Gohan smiles
" It was a good season." Midori-ko smiles
Gohan smiles thinking about how strong his mother was and not just physically but how determined she was to give him and Goten a good life even without Goku around.
Goten was a little older now so his mom didn't have to wait on him so much. Gohan was happy his mom still found joy in life. She would garden, read, go for walks and on the weekends Midori-ko would go golfing with Gohan's grandfather. She would even visit Bulma once a week for girls night.
" Mom." Gohan sits down next to her
" If you're going to sit pull those weeds by the peas." Midori-ko points
" Have you thought about getting remarried?" Gohan asks
" Nope."

" Geez mom no hesitation." Gohan laughs pulling at a weed
" Your father was and still is the love of my life dead or not." Midori-ko explains "That one's not ready yet." She mumbles about almost ripe tomato
" So you've never even thought about dating?" Gohan asks "Bulma says she dated grandpa for a little bit."
" Bulma was delusional about what was going on." Midori-ko tells him
" Mom that's your best friend." Gohan laughs
" Your father is my best friend." Midori-ko tells him
" Wow mom." Gohan smiles pulling up another weed
" What?"
" I just hope I love someone some day the same way you love dad." Gohan explains
" I hope so too." Midori-ko smiles patting Gohan's shoulder "I imagine your father told you that we made an unbreakable vow?" She asks
" No he didn't but I kinda know what you're talking about." Gohan nods "That once you...you know." His cheeks turned pink "For dragons that's the person you love for the rest of your life."
" Right." Midori-ko nods
" Does that apply to me?" He asks
" If you want it to." Midori-ko says "Not every dragon, follows that rule the man I was betrothed to was promiscuous." Midori-ko explains "He even hit on your father." Midori-ko smiles
" Oh I would have loved to have seen dad's face." Gohan laughs
" Gohan! I'm ready!" Goten comes out the back door
