You all had made it to the tournament sight just in time. Savanaclaw Dorm already waiting as you and your group quickly went to join them.
The three ghosts seeming ecstatic that they would also be playing in the tournament after so many years. And you assumed that even though they were now pranksters, they still had a passion for playing Magift.
"You're gonna pay for making fools out of us last time!" Ace declared to the Savanaclaw team, who merely smirked.
"That's the spirit! Bring it on, and don't hold back."
Deuce on the other hand, appeared to be extremely nervous now. Still glancing around a bit. "The camera's aren't rolling a-are they...?"
"Shesheshe! If I were you, those cameras would be the least of my worries." Ruggie snickered in reply.
Grim began to laugh as well, hopping around excitedly. "Alright! Time to show the world what Grim the Great is made of!"
"Count yourselves lucky you get to face me. You better make it worth my while," Leona huffed at your group.
You sighed and shook your head in dismay. Even now, Leona was far too prideful for his own good. But perhaps that could prove to be a good thing in some way, you thought. "Alright! Let's begin then."
The game had then started with the disc first in your team's possession. You choose to do what you had done last time and ran around to instruct Grim and give Ace and Deuce the openings in the opponents side.
Grim began to cackle once again. "Do you SEE all the slick moves I'm making?!"
Jack's ears seemed to twitch at Grim's words. But he refused to say anything.
Ruggie on the other hand grinned at Ace and Deuce. "Yeowch. You sure don't pull any punches against the injured, do you?"
Leona's eyes seemed to narrow as he turned to focus on Jack and Ruggie. His voice had grown a little quieter now. "Here's the plan. Ruggie you keep playing up being hurt like that," He instructed the hyena who nodded.
He then looked over at jack, who appeared to be waiting for him. "And Jack, you hit them with a counter once they rush in."
"...Right! Will do!" Jack replied. The two going off to put the lion's plan into action.
You were immediate in observing their movements. Signaling to Ace and Deuce the pattern in what the Savanaclaw team was doing. To which they took as an advantage to score a goal. However, Leona was still intelligent and managed to instruct his teammates once more without verbal. And after a few passing and chasing, your team had finally made the first point.
"Oh yeah! Score one for us!"
Leona laughed mockingly with a shrug. "You're alright. Bask in your moment of triumph while you can though. It won't last."
"That's what YOU think wait till you see Grim the Great land a goal from HERE!" Grim announced. "I call this baby the Great Grim Hurricane!"
However, as Grim was about to throw the Frisbee, he let go of it far too early. Resulting in it being thrown to the back, coming straight for you. And no one was able to act fast enough as you were hit in the head.
It was almost as though time had slown down now as you fell. Your mind being clouded by that familiar darkness as many voices entered you mind. Being muffled and drowned out by the throbbing coming from your head. And truly you now wanted to know why. Why did something always have to go wrong?
Ace had been the first to rush over to your unconscious form. Along with a now panicking Grim, who shook your body.
"Oi! Are you alright?!" Grim asked you.
"He definitely ain't alright! You threw the disc at his head!" Ace exclaimed in frustration as he attempted to shake you also. While Grim merely cried out in nervousness now as the game was ultimately put to a sudden pause for now.
However, going unseen by everyone, was a pair of icy, bluish-gray eyes that narrowed as they observed the situation at hand from a far. New found emotions seeming to swirl within them now that they couldn't quite place, but still somehow felt all too familiar.
