Thomas's (POV)
Knowing that (Y/N) was resting in the medjack hut and Hope was watching her put my mind at ease..
As I walk along the beach I suddenly feel lightheaded and dizzy..
"Shuck!" I say under my breath.. placing my hand on my side then pulling it away revealing blood..
I almost hit the ground but a pair of strong arms catch me..
I look and see Tyler as I'm slowly losing consciousness everything starts going blurry and voices become distant..
As everything fades to black..
Tyler's (POV)
I enter the medjack hut with Thomas unconscious as I'm supporting his weight..
Hope looks at me in disbelief..
I quickly get Thomas onto a cot and start checking him for any injuries..
That's when I see it.. A huge gash where an old wound healed..
I look at Hope and she quickly grabs her first aid kit.. I notice her hands shaking.. I look at her and say "You take care of our daughter I've got our son.. I've fixed a lot of wounds just like this.. Don't worry." I then kiss her forehead and watch as she goes back to (Y/N)..
I take a deep breath and start stitching up Thomas..
Y/N'S (POV)
I wake up and notice I'm in the medjack hut again.. remembering the flower field and the river.. and Tommy rescuing me..
I shoot up and notice Tyler is working on someone.. then I realize it's Tommy..
I scream.. fighting Hope who is telling me to stay away and let Tyler help Thomas.
I'm not sure where I get the strength but I'm on my feet and almost to Tommy's bed when Newt stops me..
"Greenie you need to let Tyler help Tommy." He tells me.. I run up to him repeating.. "He's hurt because of me! It's my fault!" I say crying..
I suddenly feel a pair of soft yet strong arms wrap around me and guide me out of medjack hut..
I have my back to the door of medjack hut when he comes back to me..
"Come on let's go to the shoreline. Newt told me he'll find us if Thomas wakes up. And Hope said we can see him after Tyler is done stitching up his wound."
I just nod.. going with the boy who I look at as my protector..
We arrive at the shoreline.. as we sit down I just break down..
Jaden it's my fault Tommy is hurt again.. if I wouldn't have gone looking for flowers to make bracelets and feel into the river.. none of this would have happened.. he wouldn't be in the medjack hut fighting for his life yet again.. I say on the verge of tears..
Jaden pulls me into a hug as we sit on the shoreline.. "(Y/N) let me tell you something about your brother." He says to me..
"Thomas is crazy, reckless and at times a Shucking idiot for the love of his friends and family.. but he would risk anything to Protect You!"
I laugh a little knowing he's right..
"Thomas is going to make it through this.. he's survived a night in the maze, survived Ratman, taken down Wicked for good."
"Believe me your brother is tough! He'll make it." Jaden tells me..
I smile as I lean my head on his chest hoping he's right.. because if Tommy didn't survive.. NO I can't think that way.. it's just like Jaden said "Tommy will survive."
I look at Jaden and ask "Could you stay with me tonight?"
"I'll stay but I'm not coming in. I'll sleep outside in my hammock. I can keep watch that way." He tells me.
I laugh at the thought.. thinking back to our time in the glade. Sleeping in hammocks it was a good time..
