Warning: The Reader experiences Memory Loss..
Y/N'S (POV)
I'm not sure how long I've been in the medjack hut and on the cot but this lady named Hope tells me I've been here for at least two days..
I don't remember what happened.. and I'm not sure why my head is wrapped.. Hope then looks at me and she tells me the reason my head is wrapped is because I had Brain Surgery.
"Actually it was Thomas who insisted on you having brain surgery as he told me to do Whatever it takes to save your life." She tells me..
Just as I'm processing that I've had Brain Surgery and a boy named Thomas insisted it was the only way to save my life.. A boy a little older than me appears in the doorway of my room but he didn't look familiar..
The boy looks at Hope and asks "How is she doing?"
Hope responded by telling the boy "She's awake and talking."
That's when he came over to me and started talking to me "Hey (Y/N). How are you feeling?"
I look at the boy absolutely confused and ask him. "How do you know me? Who are you?"
He looks at me shocked.. "Snowflake it's me. It's Tommy? Don't you know who I am? Don't you remember me?"
I shake my head No. Tears threatening to spill..
"Why can't I remember him?" I yell scared at Hope..
She looks at the boy who says he knows me and tells him to leave that she will come get him if anything changes..
I sit on the cot and watch the boy leave with a sad look on his face..
I look over at Hope and say "How does that boy know me?"
She then looks at me with a smile and responds "That boy is someone who cares for you very much. Now you just focus on resting and getting better."
I just shake my head trying to process everything as I watch her leave..
Quietly repeating over and over in my head "Why can't I remember him? I feel a piece is missing but I can't seem to picture it." I say as I lay down and fall asleep.
Thomas's (POV)
I can feel my heart pounding out of my chest as I make my way back to the gladers..
"Tommy How's the Greenie?" Newt asks..
I look from Newt, Minho, Mitch, Brenda, Jorge, and finally Tyler with tears in my eyes then I say the words I almost can't bring myself to..
"(Y/N) doesn't remember me. "
"What do you mean the Greenie doesn't remember you?" Minho asks shocked.
"She apparently has memory loss cause of the brain surgery Hope isn't sure how long it's going to last."
My friends look at me and try to tell me "It will be ok. She's tough. She'll make it through this just like she's made it through everything else that's been thrown her way."
I looked at all of them my anger getting the best of me as I yell
"You SHANKS don't understand (Y/N) looked right at me and she didn't even recognize me! It's like I was stranger to her all over again!"
They all stand there shocked as I walk down the beach..
I need time alone.. I can't think straight..
Five hours later:
I'm sitting by myself when Newt comes up and sits down next to me.
"Tommy let me tell you something.. The first time I met (Y/N) she was just like you a scared little Greenie that didn't know her name.. but when she punched Gally's Shuck nose I think everyone was surprised that someone so young and so small could pack such a SHUCKING punch..
I laugh at the memory..
And then I remember the time she saved us from Silver and Ratman.. "Yeah she's really brave." I say..
Then I feel my smile fade thinking of when she discovered she was sick with a condition with NO CURE..
I feel myself ball my hands into fists "SHUCK this Hydrocephalus has taken so much from her."
I look at Newt and he's waiting for me to continue.. When she got so sick with terrible headaches, she lost her hair, and now she's lost her memory of me. What more is this Hydrocephalus going to take from her?"
"I.. I feel so lost without her."
"Well Tommy don't forget you can't give up. Cause even though (Y/N) doesn't remember you she will it may take time but she's still in there our Little Greenie. She'll remember you Tommy. Don't forget she's your Little Light."
He tells me..
"Thanks Newt. " I tell him as we hug.. after he's gone I think to myself Newt's right (Y/N) will remember me and the gladers..
"It may take a while for her to get her memory back but it will happen."
I tell myself as I look down at the flower bracelet still on my wrist that she made for me back in the Maze.
"Get well my Snowflake HYDRO Warrior." I say almost like a prayer..
