Elrid Forest, above....
Did you know? Actually, the above person is a girl. Well, I'm not sure, but Pinterest told me the 'he' I initially thought is actually a 'she'. I think it's cosplay or something. But whatever. He or she, the person is cute.
The Voice and Secrets
Elrid knew something or someone was waiting for him at River Falls. He doesn't know who that person was or if that person was a friend or foe. For a person who can see future-even though that gift is not under his control- yeah, sucks- he still doesn't know what was going to happen to him during his stay here. It's not like his gift comes with a manual.
And that voice, that damn voice, was not helping at all. Well, he isn't even sure if the voice was supposed to help him.
Elrid still remember the first time he heard that voice-gruff, but soothing and reassuring- and those stormy eyes-God, that stormy eyes – it did things to him. Things unknown to him. It was exactly two weeks and two months ago, his birthday, the day he turned eighteen. He was sleeping when he found himself, well, his soul to be precise, in a dark forest.
It was dark and cold. The wind was blowing, and he could see the leaves rustling and vines dangling around the trees, but it was too silent, like everything was dead. The silvery lines of the moon's rays filtered through the tall trees surrounding him, though it didn't help much with the sight. He felt like he was in an abyss, a dark abyss.
And then there was that voice. When it echoed around him for the first time, Elrid let out a manly squeal, -not his proudest moment, he knows. But, in his defence, that sound just caught him off guard. When he whirled around to give a piece of mind to whoever spooked him, he was surprised.
There, several feet away from him, stood a black figure-surrounded by the darkness of the forest-only a pair of greyish stormy eyes glowed in the dark. It would've been scary, if not for the gentleness and warmth emanated from the voice and the shadow. It wasn't the first time -and won't be the last- he will discover things in this realm that rattles him. But he was not afraid, quite the opposite actually; he wanted to look-just look at those stormy eyes for hours, days...he didn't care. And that voice- deep and rich yet smooth and soothing - sent shivers down his spine, not from fear but something close to excitement? For the first time in his eighteen years of life, Elrid felt butterflies; squirming and fluttering and crawling all around his bones and skin- that he couldn't help but gasp, his ebony eyes widening.
"You look beautiful...." the voice whispered. Elrid should've been offended. But, he didn't. Instead, he felt his cheeks heating, the paleness of his cheeks filling with a soft pink hue.
Elrid wanted to reply, but before he could, that voice echoed around him, again: 'I'm waiting for you.'. It said, voice filled with longing?
And then they were gone, just like that. If the boy says he was disappointed, it'll be the biggest understatement of the year. He was devastated, he kept thinking about the voice, those eyes. he found himself waiting for nights. So that he can admire those greyish eyes, which watched him like he was something valuable. And that voice, which soothed him, without even trying.
And then every night, even some times of day, the voice echoed around him, whispering how he was waiting for him, longing for him. Earning for him, only him. Elrid didn't know what to do. Every day the voice visited, and every day he felt like something was missing, like a piece of himself. Like he was longing for something or someone.
