Merry X-mas hoomeans.
Such a dirty mouth.
"What do you need??"
Lincoln Thomas couldn't help but narrow his amber eyes at the petite male- no boy- before him. The boy- Elrid Forest, mate of the future beta of Knight pack and an ex-serial killer slash suspect - wasn't what he thought the boy would be when he got a call from the PRA.
When Gregory; one of the members in Pack Related Affair- which deals with the issues between the packs, appointed him to check up on a murder case or more precisely on the ex-suspect who claimed to be a medium, Lincoln visioned someone who was less.... delicate-to put it mildly. The male couldn't help but internally wince when he saw the boy walking towards him while holding his mate's hands.
Elrid was petite. Barely reaching the chin of the future beta, his limbs long and slim. Doe eyes abnormally wide with ebony pupils, such a striking contrast against his snowy pale skin and the white- not silver nor was it pale blonde; it was pure white- hair. It didn't look unnatural though. Considering all those oddities one thing that stood out was his smell. He smelled heavily of the beta- a sure thing considering they were newly mated; and fresh-rained soil and pines. Yet there was a hint of something sour and burning... like decaying flesh... like death. However, there wasn't a sick bone in his body; Lincoln could tell. And with that ghost-printed baggy jeans and oversized t-shirt the boy looked out of place.
And Lincoln couldn't help but admire the boy's guts. Even with all those looming hulks surrounding him, he wasn't scared. Intrigued maybe. Curiosity too. But there wasn't even a whiff of fear in him.
The male's ember eyes glanced over to the male sitting beside the boy; Caleb Murphy, the future beta of the Knight pack. He reminded him of Fiona. With her dark brown hair and dark grey eyes that can peer into someone like he can see their soul. But he wasn't cutthroat like her. No, he had some softness to him, like Benjamin, always looking after everyone. Then again Zander needed someone like that. For all his perception and open-mindedness, that boy needs a stable presence in his life—a guide. And Lincoln is sure Caleb can provide that.
"I need something, eh, anything from the dead." Not only Lincoln but every other person who sat inside the alpha's office blinked at Elrid's answer to his previous question.
"Meaning?" Trevor cleared his throat.
"Something the dead used. Like dresses, books, key chains. Oh, bonus points if they're special to them. Or items they had with them when they died" The boy said it so casually, that he couldn't help but think about how the boy said he had been doing it for years. The boy was proud of himself.
Benjamin quirked one of his eyebrows. "Why?"
"Because anything can hold memories" Ophelia was the one who answered Benjamin's question. Even though Lincoln didn't get the full theory he too nodded his head along with the alpha and beta.
"Well, in that case, we can contact Martha. Ask something of Sophie's- "
Elrid cut in, throwing a knowing look at Caleb as he waved Trevor's suggestion off. "Except, I already know what happened. There wasn't much." Lincoln saw the tick on Trevor's jaw. And how Caleb tensed beside his mate. But there wasn't much reaction from the boy though, either he was oblivious or he didn't care.
Before the tension can thicken, Benjamin butted in. "The two other body we found were rogues. We don't have anything from them" Benjamin continued as Trevor nodded along in confirmation. "And we already cremated the body"
