New Pillar

“I'm leaving. There is always a Water and a Flame Pillar since the beginning of the Demon Slayer Corps.. But it ends now. I was the last Flame Pillar and I am leaving now.”

Everyone was stunned to hear those words from the Flame Pillar, Rengoku Shinjuro. He wasn't much active since a long time but they didn't expect him to quit the Demon Slayer Corps after saying such harsh words.

“What do you mean?” Sabito asked, “Why would there be no Flame Pillar from now on? Someone else can take your place.. Right?”

Shinjuro angrily stared at Sabito as if he was just about to hit him.

“Nonsense! My both sons are incompetent fools! Neither Kyojuro.. nor Senjuro are talented enough to become Flame Pillars... The Legacy of the Flame Pillar ends now!”

He storms out of the Demon Slayer HQ. Even though they didn't wanted to believe it.. Having no Flame Pillar sounded really worrisome for the Demon Slayer Corps...

“Why does it have to be his sons then?” Sabito asks, “Can't anyone else be the Flame Pillar?”

“Yes, they can be.” the Master replied, “But the Flame Pillars had always been from the Rengoku Family... It's not as there is a special rule for it, but the other flame users just can't meet the requirements.”

The Flame Pillar had left, Kanae had died and two years have passed.
They've gotten new pillars, such as Shinobu, after the death of Kanae, became the Insect Pillar. She acted more like Kanae now, for some reason, including the smile.
And a black-haired person named Iguro Obanai had also joined their ranks in these two years. But they still didn't have a Flame Pillar.

Just then, a new Pillar arrived at the Demon Slayer HQ.

“Greetings, I'm the 22nd Flame Pillar, Rengoku Kyojuro.” he said.

He had a clear and loud tone of speaking.
Giyuu suddenly remembered that name. He had heard it when Shinjuro had left, saying, “Neither Kyojuro nor Senjuro are talented enough to become a Flame Pillar!”

“Hold up..” As usual, Sabito couldn't bear to keep quite for the meeting, “.. How did you become a Pillar? I thought Rengoku-San gave up on you.”

“Sabito.. You shouldn't say everything that comes to your mind.. ” Giyuu tries to tell him.

“No problem! I'll be comfortable to tell you all! Actually, My ancestors and all the Flame Pillars that have existed used to have notes of the first Flame Pillar. I trained and read those very same notes for guidance.” Kyojuro told them all.

“Seems like you can't stop the gifted, no matter how much you give up on them.. ” the Master was about to dismiss the meeting, “.. Kyojuro, welcome to the Pillar ranks.. 22nd Flame Pillar.”

With that, the Demon Slayer Corps had regained the Flame Pillar.
