Sansa snaked her arms around Jae and looked up at him with adoration.
"Almost there," Jae whispered kissing her gently. She loved how gentle he was. Loved that he wanted her, not because anyone was making him but because he loved her too. Loved that he was a man of his word and her father approved.
Sansa bawked at the manor when she saw it. It was huge. Larger than the castle even.
"Are you sure you are not a prince?" sansa questioned.
"Not a prince just a lucky lord." Jae remarked.
He offered her a hand off the ship and onto the dock, he couldnt wait to show her around.
"We can forget the rest of the world." Jay offered and sansa nodded. "Come on. I will show you around. No one will bother us here." Jay assured offering her his hand.
"Jae I am already in paradise." Sansa remarked.
Sansa looked around as they walked up the dock and onto the cobblestone pathway leading up to the house, the gardens were kept beautifully, the grass a lush green, the flowers blossoming in an array of beautiful colors. Sansa looked to the bird and the butterflies fluttering around his yard, so content. She breathed in the fresh air. She hated that the capital always had one smell or another, she loved that Jae lived in a place that had room to wander, room to breathe, she would not be harassed by guards for going into the Gods woods.
Sansa held to Jaes hand as they walked before he pushed open the door. She looked around at the detailing, it was more beautiful than the capital.
She ran a hand over the carvings, the trinkets, the piano, a smile curved her lips as she glanced back at him. Jae watched her intently, seeing this old place with new eyes as she explored.
"I thought you were going to give me a tour." Sansa remarked spinning to face him.
"I am enjoying watching you wander too much." Jae decided. "I have instructed the chef to start cooking though." Jae added. "I'm sure you are hungry."
"Starving." Sansa agreed. She hadnt had much of an appetite at the capital, a constant stomach ache most days but suddenly it was like everything was catching up with her and her stomach growled out. She was safe and her body knew it. She didnt have to worry about the lannisters... or did she?
"Jae, will the Lannisters come after me?" Sansa questioned. "COme after you?"
"They won't come here." Jae assured.
"But you went missing and I went missing, surely they will connect the dots." Sansa realized.
"They won't come here." Jae assured. He knew it was a possibility but he would protect her. "I told Cersei I was going home. I told her I was sorry I couldnt stay, for the wedding that is... told her I would try to visit again. I left before you did by a few hours." He reminded her.
"You think they wont think..." Sansa whispered wrapping her arms around him. Tully blue eyes stared up at him.
"I think that they have enough on their minds, and besides someone else was trying to steal you away," Jae recalled.
"The fool." Sansa agreed. "I dont know where he was taking me, I thought he was bringing me to you." Sansa remarked.
"He wasnt. Maybe they will suspect the mystery man." Jae offered. "Either way, you are safe with me."
"I believe you." Sansa agreed. He kissed her and she beamed back at him.
He turned to face her, every ounce of his vulnerability and compassion on full display. No walls. No lies. She was used to lies and manipulation in the capital but here, with Jae she didn't have to worry about that. Just the truth.
"Loving you is my favorite thing to do. It's automatic and effortless. But I will always give all I have to loving you and treating you like a queen."
