Third Person POV:

Atsushi screamed, hot iron, melting his plush flesh, burning into his skin. The headmaster smirked, pressing harder into the young white haired boy's left hip as he sobbed, head hanging low. The salty tears stung, mixing with the boiling flesh, as his arms and legs shook against the restraints, preventing the child from escaping.

(M/N)'s eyes widened at the sound of Nakajima's blood-curdling scream. The other kids didn't even react, making the small figure grimace, slipping out of the shared bedroom, unnoticed by the others. He shuffled quietly across the cold and slippery tiles swiftly, avoiding being seen by the cruel caretakers. He listened for the screams, nearing a thick metal door with a slit in the window, (M/N) assumed it was for food. He knelt down, opening the hatch, praying he wouldn't get caught. He looked in, seeing Atsushi's numb face, tears falling off his chin, as he laid limp, against the wall. The door wasn't even locked as he reached for the doorknob, though stopping being afraid of being caught, especially by the headmaster. The (h/c)(Hair color) boy looked back in again, this time seeing that the headmaster was wiping his hands.

(M/N) quickly got up, scuffling over the closest corner, hiding from the psychotic man. To his luck, the man went the other direction, the thick door closing so painfully slow, though it helped (M/N). He squeezed his frail and underfed body through, eyes opening widely in horror. He walked over to Atsushi, who was curled up into a ball on a crappy mattress, in the corner of the concrete room.

"Atsu." (M/N) pressed his hand on Atsushi's leg softly, attempting to not startle the crying kid.

"Eh!" He flinched, looking up scaredly at his friend who stared back with a pitiful expression plastered onto his face.

"Nakajima." (M/N) knelt down in front of him, joining him on the mattress, rubbing his trembling legs  softly, attempting to soothe him.

"I'm sorry!" He cried, throwing his pale arms around his only friend, sobbing into his white pajama set quietly. (M/N) rubbed up and down his back, letting the boy cry.

"You don't have to apologize." (M/N) pulled away from Atsushi, looking him in the eyes.

"I do. I've been avoiding telling you what's been wrong with me!" His eyes let out small tears, eyes almost shaking in fear.

"It's fine, seriously, Atsushi." (M/N) looked the tiger up and down, before smiling softly.

"I want to show you something." Atsushi whispered, pulling up his white shirt over his head, exposing his scarred and bruised chest.

(M/N)'s eyes wandered down, glancing over each scar with a shocked expression. Atsushi dropped his shirt back down, tears beginning to well up in his sunset eyes again.

"It's ugly I know." He mumbled, wiping his nose onto his arm.

"No. It shows you're a fighter." (M/N) looked at his best friend, pulling him into a tight hug.

"I-i... don't know what I'd do without you." Atsushi sighed, holding on tightly, like he'd never get another hug.

"Let's get out of here, Nakajima." (M/N) whispered into the other's gray hair.

"We'll die out there." He protested, letting himself out of the hug.

"You'll die here!" (M/N) shot back, eyes glazing over. "I can't lose you Atsushi." He cried, looking down at his own legs.

"(M/N)...I can't." Atsushi muttered, looking out of the grated window at the top of the back wall.

"Atsushi please." (M/N) begged, grabbing his shoulders, head still down, avoiding his pitiful expression.

"(M/N)." He rubbed my arms with his lanky fingers.

"It's fine Nakajima. I'll wait for you. Lets just sit alone together." The boy sighed, adjusting his position to lean back against the wall.

"Thank you." Atsushi whispered, leaning back, putting his head on (M/N)'s shoulder.

"Anything for you." He whispered back, waiting for Atsushi to fall asleep, clearly exhausted from extensive abuse and crying.

He waited, staring at the chains on the wall, clinking lightly. Soon he heard a light snoring sound coming from Atsushi.

"I love you Nakajima." He kissed his forehead, laying him down on the mattress, covering him with a shitty excuse for a blanket.

'Maybe one day he'll see.'
