Warnings: HuntingDog!(M/N)&Tachihara, Angst to Fluff, Suicidal!(M/N), Attempted Suicide

Pronouns- Both- (He/Him)

Gifts- Tachihara- Midwinter Memento, (M/N)- Below the Surface- the ability to control any form of lava and fire mimicking the inner part of earth. Can control any form of fire not caused by him, downside- he isn't immune to the fire meaning it could still kill him. Dazai's ability can't nullify the burns created, though

Tachihara's POV:

The wind blew softly through (M/N)'s hair as he stood beside me staring out at the ocean from the pier.

"Damn it those stupid terrorists." He balled his fists, groaning in frustration.

"Hey, (L/N) you tried. That's all that matters." I sighed, resting my right hand on his shoulder, looking over at him with a soft smile.

"Thanks Tachihara, but I'm just not good enough. I'm barely qualified for this. I hate this job." He admitted, eyes watering, shutting them to prevent tears from falling.

"Hey, hey. Don't worry, it's okay I promise. You'll be alright just trust me." I looked at him, eyes widened in worry.

"No it's okay. I should go. I need to train or else the Jouno will kill me." He chuckled, smiling fakely, hiding his emotions beneath.

"...Okay." I answered hesitantly watching the man walk away quickly.

"Maybe he should kill me." (M/N) grumbled, face down onto his pillow.

"This life has been nothing but shit. I've helped them with every mission, but what do I get. Left in the dirt." (M/N) rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling, thinking deeply about ways to die.

"I want to die." (M/N) spoke numbly, sitting up.

'I have an idea. The ocean. Anything to be with my sister.' He thought, smiling to himself.

"There's got to be heavy things at the pier." He whispered to himself, leaving his coat on his bed.

(M/N) would do anything to be with his sister. She drowned in the pool at the age of 6. She was watching happily as leaves landed softly into the cool water. She reached out to touch the leaf, falling face first into the water. She choked on the water, not having learned to swim. His mother swore she was watching, but instead she had gone to the front yard to smoke. (M/N) never forgave her.

(M/N) snuck himself through the city, praying that I wasn't lurking around. He had feelings for me and I had some for him. I knew just what he was up to. I'm the only one who knows about his sister. I followed behind him at a distance, avoiding suspicion.

He stepped onto someone's yacht, grabbing a speaker off of the table, hopping off over, landing roughly onto the wooden dock. He struggled towards the edge, carrying the heavy weight over to the water. I watched closely as he smiled down at the water.

'What the hell is he doing?' I thought to myself, leaning out from behind a trashcan.

"No way..." I gasped quietly, watching as his body disappeared with a loud splash.

His body laid beneath the speaker sparking as it hit the water and began to sink slowly. (M/N)'s eyes shut as he watched the light sink. He noticed a face though, my face.

"(M/N)!" I screamed, running up to the edge of the dock, looking down.

"Damn it." I threw off my cape and dove down to reach his body.

His limp body sunk slowly as I pushed the speaker off of him. I gasped, letting out bubbles, water burning my throat. My hand wrapped around his waist, swimming myself and him upwards towards the dock. I coughed as my head broke the water. I held his hand as I lifted myself up onto the wood, holding his head slightly above water, eyes open rolling into the back of his head.

"Shit, please be okay." I threw his surprisingly light body onto the damp oak.

I checked his pulse, a slow beat pumping slowly.

"Oh thank god." I exhaled, tilting his head back and began doing chest compressions on his chest, hard. I didn't care if he broke a rib, pressing harder and rhythmically. I pressed my lips to his blue ones, pushing my air into his lungs, hoping it worked. My heart dropped as he didn't wake.

"FUCK!" I yelled, sobbing pushing my hands into his chest. Suddenly he gasped, white face gaining color. He sat up quickly, coughing up water all over me, but I couldn't care less.

"Oh my god." I cried, wrapping my arms around his neck tightly, head resting on his wet shoulder.

"Tachihara?" He choked out, trying to steady his harsh breathing.

"Yes, yes it's me." I laughed, unable to detach myself from him.

"Why would you save me?" He whispered hoarsely, his hands clinging to my shirt tightly.

"Damn it. I love you." I leaned back, hands placed on either side of his head, water droplets falling slowly.

"You what?" He looked at me, gasping lightly.

"I love you, okay?" I glanced out at the water, back to the sea.

"Tachihara..." He put his hand on my chin, turning my red face to look at his soft smile.

"Wha-" I was cut off quickly.

His lips pressed against mine, a sharp gasp coming from my lips, eyes shutting in pure bliss. He pulled away slowly, a smile plastered onto his face.

"Thank you so much." He sniffled, tears falling down his face slowly.

"Don't bother, I would do anything for you." I chuckled through shaky breaths.

"I love you Michizou." He spoke softly, eyes glazing over again, lovestruck look on his face.

"I love you, too, (M/N)." I smiled, pulling his lips to mine again as we sat at the edge of a dock, drenched.
