Hey, I'm y/n l/n! Also known as Toxic Spider. For the past two years I have been Earth-001 one and only spider person. But that all changed two months ago. Let's start from the beginning.

Two years ago...

I connect my headphones to listen to music while I finish my homework. I can't seem to focus on this question given as an ice breaker, "What do you want to be when you are older?". I sit there in the uncomfortable plastic chairs that every time I move, a chunk of my hair likes to stay behind.

This isn't a hard question. Why can't I answer this? I could write something random down, but I care about answering it. Why? I keep looking at the clock on the wall that's right above the door. I keep looking at it as if it's going to go by faster every time I look.

Who cares about this question. I write down, I don't know. I feel ashamed for not knowing when I know I shouldn't. Again, why do I care so much about a simple question that won't matter so much in a week?

Finally, I can leave this prison. I cram past the flood of people to get to my locker. I open it and grab the folder with leftover work to do at home. I also grab my skateboard to go on my daily skate around the city. There is just something so calming about skating around a busy town like Brooklyn.

I leave the school in a hurry. I reach the pavement and jump on my board. I hate the school pavement. They haven't redone it in years, so it's rough and bumpy which doesn't feel good on my wheels.

I skate into downtown Brooklyn. They are having a Captain America Expo. Interesting, I'll keep that in mind for later for my history paper. I pass by an ally filled with trash bags and a can that looks likes it's been here for years. Disgusting.

I reach an abandoned shop. I decide that it's time for me to actually do my homework. I slowed down by this shop and jump off my board. I look around to make sure no one sees me. I don't want people thinking I'm doing drugs or something in here. Hey, this is a great spot to do that. That's besides the point.

Next to the door there is a plaque, a historical plaque. These are given to places that have been here for decades. It was built in the 1940s and was an antique shop. Cool. I grab the doorknob and wiggle it with some force. Jesus they really don't want anyone here. Using both of my hands, I open the door.

As soon as I walk in I'm greeted by dust. So much dust. I grab my board while walking into the dust bunny filled store. There was nothing here except for spiderwebs and unwanted animals. But there was though a single desk, an old desk. This clearly was the register when this place was up and running in the 40s.

I walk over the dust covered desk. I put my board down on the ground to use as a seat. I rub my fingers over the table admiring how this piece of furniture has survived for so long in this place. While I was examining it, I saw a little faded red button. I clicked it thinking nothing would happen.

I look behind me to see the wall move and reveal a door. Hesitantly, I opened the door to be met with stairs. The stairs led down under the store somewhere I couldn't make out. Curiosity got the best of me, I turned on my phone flashlight to light my way down the stairs.

It was dark and even more dusty down here. I finally made it to the bottom after what felt like an eternity. I was met with shards of glass and broken pieces of plastic. I wander around the room to see burn marks on the walls. An explosion.

In the middle of the room was a bed looking contraption. It was an old fashion greenish color. It used to have a door attached to it, which was clearly thrown across the room during this explosion. While exploring this room, I felt something crawling on my neck. It's nothing, just my nerves. Suddenly, I feel a sharp pain on my neck where I felt the tingling of what I thought was my nerves. As a defense mechanism, I hit my neck. Oh my god, there something on my hand. I reveal my hand and shine my flashlight on it to reveal a crushed spider. Gross! I rubbed the body of the spider on my pants and take this as my cue to leave.

I start my descend up the stairs and start to feel lightheaded. I should've stopped at the gas station to get a water. I'm probably just dehydrated. I decided to take the subway home instead as I started to grow more and more tired.

When I take my seat, I immediately doze off. Black mist appears as this tall brooding figure approaches me. What's happening? "Lyla who the hell is this?" the figure says. I am able to see the figure more clearly. He's wearing a skin tight suit that is blue with a red spider looking symbol in the middle. I try to speak but I'm unable to. Am I experiencing sleep paralysis? I've only heard of people having this, I didn't think it was this weird. A women appears next to the figure but smaller, like the size of a Barbie doll almost. She's clearly a hologram because she is able to glitch herself around this mysterious person. "You'll see soon enough Miguel!", says the Barbie looking feature who must be Layla. Miguel, so that's his name.

Suddenly I'm awaken in a cold sweat by an older lady. "This is the last stop, I thought I should wake you so you aren't trapped on this thing." She smiles warmly as she helps me up as much as she can, "Thank you" I say to the lady while still trying to wrap my head around what just happened.

Whatever, it's just a stupid dream. I walk home to my mom's apartment since I'm too exhausted to skate there. I open the door and am greeted by my mother with a stern, unhappy, look on her face. "Where were you? Do you know what time it is?" "Sorry I'm late, I missed my stop on the train." I respond to her, still I'm a daze. Why am I so exhausted?

"Whatever, I made dinner. It's in the fridge. I'm going to bed so make sure you do you're homework and go straight to bed." "Got it, love you too" I say as I enter the kitchen. "Love you!" She yells from the top of the stairs.

I didn't realize how hungry I was until I opened the fridge. God I'm so hungry I could eat everything I'm here. I grabbed the dinner my mom made and also the leftovers from yesterday, a frozen pizza, and some frozen mac and cheese. I eat it all as if I haven't been fed in years.

After feeling like I'm going to explode with all of the food I ate, I dragged myself and all of my school stuff upstairs to my room. I plopped onto my bed and fall asleep. This time with no weird dream.

I wake up the next morning still as tired as I was when I went to bed. I tried to open my door and I rip off the door knob in the process. What the hell? I drop the door knob and walk to the bathroom. I open the door a little more gently to not break this one as well. I grab my toothpaste and it squirts all over the mirror. What the actual fuck. Whatever I'm so done right now. It's too god damn early for this. I use my toothbrush to wipe some of the paste onto it that flung onto the mirror. I brush my teeth while whipping the mirror to remove the evidence.

I make my room to my room, now fully wide awake and freaking out. I feel like I can hear everything. I don't know if it's hearing or more like sensing. While I'm in a daze, trying to figure out what happened. I fell a hand on my shoulder, i jump up. But instead of landing back down, I'm on the ceiling. Okay now I'm recalling freaking out. How am I sticking here? I let go, and see my little sister staring at me in horror. "Ta-da!" I say to her with jazz hands, trying my best not to freak her out. "It's a new trick I'm working on, feel my hands, they are laced in a sticky substance I made to stick on things for a short period of time to prank people with." What am I saying? She feels my hands and giggles. Phew, she bought it.

I really need to figure out what's wrong with me.
