I walk into the portal led by Jessica. I see a room full of people in suits like mine. She explains to me that I am not the only spider person out there. She says that there are hundreds of us across the multiverse. I knew the multiverse was real.

She gives me a wristband, blue in color. She tells me that these help me to not glitch, which apparently happens when you aren't in your own universe. Mines gone so that doesn't seem to matter to me.

She leads me throughout the building explaining parts of it. I can't hear her because I'm in my own thoughts, I was just with them a day ago and now they are all gone.

She notices, and rubs my back in a sympathetic way. "I know this is a lot for you but there is someone I would like you to meet."

She continues to lead my through the never ending maze of the Spider Society HQ. We eventually make it to an area that looks run down. I keep my guard up, knowing how my dad has gone, I don't know what will happen.

We reach our final destination, an almost empty room with high ceilings. A man stand by a desk with hundreds of hologram computer screens in front of him. The desk is elevated high in the air. He looks familiar. I can't put my finger on it.

"She's here." Jessica says. I look at her worried, she gives me a reassured smile. The man turns around and the platform lowers itself. I know where he's from! My dream on the plane, when I got my powers. The realization of me recognizing him must've been obvious with my facial expressions.

"Ah so you remember me." "Yeah, you're Miguel right?" he nods while putting his hands on his hips. "Why were you in my dream?" I ask. "It's some new technology we are working on, to help our cause." he turns around as he finishes his sentence to look back at his computers.

"And what exactly is that?" Damn do I ask a lot of questions. "The purpose of the Spider Society is to keep everything in balance, to make sure universes don't disappear." I look at him when he said the last part. Anger starts to fill me.

"Well apparently you failed because mine is gone." I snap at him. He turns around to face me, "We couldn't interfere with yours. It was meant to happen, it was your canon event." "What the hell is a canon event?" I respond to him, still irritated. "A canon event is what happens to us Spider people to make us into what we are. The motivation to drive us forward." He clicks away at his computer to reveal a giant web around the empty room.

"Everybody has one," he clicks on a part of the web to reveal a male Spiderman holding a deceased man on the sidewalk sobbing. Another Spiderman holding a blonde lady with a aqua suit, also crying. Miguel continues, "For most it's the death of their Uncle Ben, some of their best friends or lovers. But in you're case, it was your Earth." Tears start to well up in my eyes. "Why was mine so different from the others?" I whisper through gridded teeth. "No one really knows. The events are different but have the same purpose, to forward your path of being a superhero."

Why did my family need to be sacrificed to show me that I want to be a hero? I already knew this. Is this group just a place for people to go to share their traumas?

"Why exactly did you bring me here then?" this is my final question for him. This time Jessica speaks, "We think you have potential. As you know, some of us have been watching you and I want to train you to become your full potential. We want you to help us, join our cause." She looks at Miguel for reassurance, he nods.

"I've always wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be someone that people can look up to. I can't have that on my Earth anymore. I don't want anyone to feel the pain of loosing their universe as I have." I look up at Miguel, he has tears in his eyes as if he almost relates to my statement. I look at Jessica and then back to him. "I'll do it."

Jessica smiles at me. "Let's get you an official watch instead of those day pass ones." I nod and look back at Miguel while we are leaving. He's already back at his desk looking at a video. It seems to be playing a video of him with a little girl. I wonder who that is.

I ask Jessica about it. She looks at me with sadness in her eyes. "He lost his universe as well, but it was his fault." I look at her confused, she continues, "he was an anomaly in an universe. One of the main things we do here is get rid of those anomalies because they are things that distract universes from their destined paths. He found a universe where he has a family, took the place of that Miguel, and the universe glitched away. He created this society so that no one would make his mistake." She finishes with a sigh.

"Did he agree to me joining so easily because he felt sympathy for me? Because I wasn't the cause so I can't create any damage other places?" I ask, wondering if I'm just a charity case. "Who knows," Jessica said honestly, "no one really knows how he functions so you might be right or he might really see potential in you."

We reach a desk with another Spider Person behind it. "One official wristband please." "Here you go," he handed me the wristband that's identical to Jessica's and the rest of the Spider People. "and congrats." he finishes. I smile at him thanking him.

I place it on my wrist right below where my webs shoot out. Jessica explains to me how to use it. What I mostly gather from the talk is that I can travel from multiverse to multiverse without glitching. I can go anywhere I want but home to my family.

Ever since then, I've been helping Miguel and rhe rest of the society capture anomalies, save universes, etc. I'm able to save other universes unlike how I couldn't save mine. I've made some friends along the way, but I never able to feel the way towards this group as I did with the Avengers. I don't think I ever will. I've been to universes where they are alive and well, where we don't lose, and it hurts. I have just learned to brush it off. I've met with the therapist that is given to us Spider People and he helps sometimes.

One day while I was at headquarters, I get a call on my watch from Miguel. He almost never calls me. I answer, "We need you to go to Earth-199999 and fix whatever the hell this Spiderman has done." he says irritated, "Let me brief you on what's going on, his identity was revealed and he went to his Doctor Strange to help fix it. In doing so, he opened a rip in the multiverse and multiple hero's and villains are spilling into his world." "Doesn't sound too different to the others." I say. "Okay when do you want me to go?"
