a/n: welcome back! just want to let you guys know that this chapter is going to be filled with some random flashbacks. the order of a few of them aren't that important but the important one will be pretty obvious to where it lands on this story's timeline! (also how cute is this edited picture i found on pinterest 😭) anyways, back to the story!

One day, I went to the kitchen to grab a drink. I head over to the dinning room to see Bucky and Steve talking. I've grown pretty close with them due to all the time we spent together training. They feel like my older brothers. Really, really, older brothers. All three of us are from Brooklyn anyways so we bond over that.

I sat down and just listen to their conversation. They were talking about old parts of Brooklyn from the 40s. Every few minutes I would chime in saying where those places are now. Most of them are long gone, but a few are still thriving today.

Steve brought up this antique shop. I look at him, I'm looking at him more intently. He notices,   "Y/n, do you know this place." "Keep describing it." I say and he listen to what I said. He keeps describing it and the area surrounding it. In the middle of him talking, I interrupt him, "Steve, did this place have a desk with a button that lead under it?" I say to him with a sudden hit of excitement. "Yeah it did, how did you know that?" "Holy shit," Steve gives me the look, "Language." "Sorry," I continue, "Steve, I've been there and that's were I got bit by the spider that gave me my powers."

They both look at me in disbelief. "Maybe the spider was incased with the super soldier serum." Bucky adds into the conversation. I look at him, "Yes! Maybe you're right. Come with me, we need to test this!" I get up whole almost knocking my chair over. The two men follow me as I rush into Tony's lab while he's working on something. I just open the door, "Tony! I think the spider that bite me had the super soldier serum!" I say with excitement. He looks at me in shock, "Here let me explain," I proceeded to tell him the events that took place about 10 minutes ago.

The three of us, Steve, Bucky, and myself, did some blood tests to see if this was true. After waiting what felt like days, the results were in.

"Well, they are almost the same and have the same attributes as each other," Bruce says while taking off his gloves and looking at the computer, "But, y/n's strand is different. It's the same but a different variation. Kind of like how there are different types of the flu, there seems to be different  variations of the super soldier serum. This explains how her powers are so different from yours." He points at Bucky and Steve while saying yours.

Wow. I look at them in disbelief. "That's so cool! How could the spider last that long? Did it just mutate into what it was when it bite me?" I have so many questions. Bruce sorta answers my questions. "Well we won't ever know really because it's dead, but we can theorize, and that seems pretty plausible." He shrugs, looking at Tony for reassurance. He nods in agreement.

"I guess we are more similar than I thought y/n." Steve says while smiling at me. I smile back at him. "I wish I had your cool powers." Bucky says laughing. I laugh, "I just got lucky I guess."

I was lucky, I had a home away from home. But little would I know, this home would be ripped away from me in under a year.

Almost two years after being with the Avengers, I was put onto more combat like missions. I would also help out my city by patrolling it some nights.

One day, while I was finishing up my English homework, I get a call from an unknown number. I used to never answer these, but with how many times Tony has to change his number, I started to answer them.

I press answer, "Hello?" "y/n! This is Natasha, we need you at the tower. Now." Natasha? This is unusual, "Okay I'll be there as soon as I can, what's going on?" "You'll be filled in when you get there." Now this is really weird. We hangup, I grab my bag, and put on my suit. I jump out of my window and start my travel to the tower.
