Me and my girlfriend Amber got into a fight leading us into a breakup.
"Why are you always coming back home late?!" I slightly yell "Oh my god I don't have time for this Y/N" Amber replies "No! tell me why you're always coming home late, never talking to me and ditching me for your friends! we were supposed to have dinner together tonight!" I say raising my voice. Amber then looks at me and replies "Y/N, im really tired can we talk about this tomorrow?" Amber says walking up to me and putting her arms around my neck. I quickly take her arms off of me "Dont touch me! explain yourself!" I cross my arms and wait for her response "Oh my god fine! me and my friends went to the club to have some fun" Amber says back "And this is why you couldnt at least text me back?!" I hold out my phone "I knew you would be like this!" Amber says walking away "We're done" I say looking down "what?" Amber says turning "I said we're done!, get your stuff and leave!" I point to the door, my eyes glossy from holding back tears. "Fine, but just know you're never gonna get another girlfriend in your life. You know why? because you're a clingy, greedy bitch" Amber then walks upstairs to grab her stuff and before I knew it she was gone. Im not normally an emotional person but somehow those words hurt me in a way, was Amber right? was I too clingy?. I sat on my couch alone until I decided to drive to the person who always knows how to make me feel better, Hailee Steinfeld.
I knock on the door of my friends house, Eyes red and puffy from crying. I wait for a few seconds until I see the gorgeous brunette in front of me "Oh hey Y/N! what are you doing he-" she stopped her sentence when she saw face and instantly brought me into a tight hug. I hold her for a few seconds until a few tears slip off my cheeks, Hailee looked up at me and wiped my tears with her thumb "Come on, lets go inside" Hailee says pulling me in her house and sitting me down on the couch. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asks quietly, I shake my head no and she scooches closer to me. We sit in silence for a few seconds until I speak up "Me and Amber broke up" I mumble "Oh honey im so sorry" Hailee says rubbing comforting circles on my back "Its all my fault" I say bringing my hands up to my face. Hailee then slowly takes them off and puts my hands in hers "Its probably not your fault Y/N, can I be honest with you?" she asks me and I nod in response "I never really liked Amber, I mean no offense or anything but she seemed pretty careless about your guy's relationship." Hailee confesses "yeah... she always comes home late" I say. Hailee leans back and puts my head on her chest, I found listening to her heartbeat very relaxing "Hailee?" "mhm?" "Am I too clingy?" I ask her "I'd say your the perfect amount of clingy" She says which makes me smile. Me and Hailee end up talking just enjoying eachothers company until Hailee gets up "How about we eat some ice cream?" I smile which makes Hailee smile and we go into her kitchen. Hailee grabs the ice cream and I grab the toppings which is maraschino cherries, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and caramel syrup.
"Ready? 3" Hailee starts "2" "1 go!" me and Hailee start scooping the ice cream into our bowls. I scooped chocolate chip cookie dough and Hailee scooped chocolate. I quickly sprayed the whipped cream on my ice cream and poured the caramel syrup, lastly I put the cherry on top and sprayed a little whipped cream in my mouth. I look over to my left to see Hailee still spraying her whipped cream on her scoops. "Dude" I chuckle "what?" Hailee looks up and sees my bowl finshed "okay you may have finished first but mine will look better" Hailee says confidently I look at her and smile widely.
I love Hailee with all my heart, shes been there for me when no one else was. The past few years of me knowing Hailee I may have grown a little crush on her but I decided to bury those feelings by getting with Amber. But even when I was with Amber I didnt feel the same way that I do with Hailee, so I decided to tell Hailee that I like her.
Me and Hailee finished cleaning up the kitchen and chose to listen to some music, we picked the song: Mine by Taylor Swift. My head was rested on Hailees lap while she played with my hair "Hey.. Hailee?" "whats up?" she asked looking down "can I tell you something?" "Sure" I sat up and looked at Hailee while she looked at me "Hailee I like you, well its more than a like, its more of an I love. I love you and I have loved you ever since we met" as I waited for an answer Hailee looked at me and smiled then leaned in and I quickly reciprocated. There I was kissing Hailee steinfeld on her couch, maybe the breakup with Amber wasnt so bad?
