You Spend A Day With Kaveh

Sanctuary of Surasthana, Sumeru City, Sumeru

You look at Alhaitham then at Kaveh, who is currently looking at you with a slight pout and puppy-dog eyes, before you reply.

"If you don't have anything important to do tomorrow, then it's okay if you stay here," you say to Kaveh. "As long as I'm not disrupting your schedule."

"Never," Kaveh says while standing up. "Tomorrow, we will have such a fun date—day! Fun day!"

Alhaitham rolls his eyes at his housemate, "You're so clingy. I'm going, good night."

His eyes darted once at you with his lips in a frown, the way he said good night is laced with ice and you shudder a bit. Kaveh doesn't see it though since his back is turned on Alhaitham. The Acting Grand Sage exits the room, and you hear him fumble on a set of keys as he walks away.

Kaveh stands up and starts to leave, "I gotta go too, I'm so excited for tomorrow! See you and good night!"

Once Kaveh is also out, you hear them walk away until the Sanctuary of Surasthana is quiet again. You settle for tonight, excited about Kaveh's plans for tomorrow.

You finally fall asleep after a few days of not resting. Your mind wanders, and soon you enter the dream world.

The field of flowers around you sway in the soft morning breeze. You turn around and see a huge glass palace reflecting the morning light around in different angles, making it shimmer.

Your feet touch soft grass as you walk towards the glass palace. Though you don't know where it leads, it feels as if you are walking towards home. Once you open the door, you fall into endless space.

You wake up gasping with your hand outstretched, grasping air. You feel sweaty and tired though you know you just woke up.

A man's voice spooked you, "Are you alright?"

When your eyes adjust to the darkness, you see Alhaitham. He's sitting down at the end of your bed with his back leaning on the wall and you see him unsummon his sword.

"Alhaitham?"

"I'm here," he whispers.

You slowly sit up and see him half covered in his own blanket. The more you think about it, the more confused you get. What is he doing here in your room? Didn't he already go home earlier?

"What time is it? Why are you here?"

"I think it's 3am, and I'm here because I can't sleep." Alhaitham says as he tries to settle back in his area. "Something is worrying me that is why I think I wanted to be here tonight."

"Oh… Are you comfortable there?"

"Not really but better here than on the floor. Besides, you prefer to spend the day with Kaveh anyway," you can hear the poison in his voice when he replies.

Rubbing your eyes just makes you more sleepy and you yawn. You light up the lamp on your desk and see Alhaitham's frown. Even though you try hard to suppress it, you can't stop giggling.

Alhaitham frowns more when he asks, "What's funny?"

"Is it wrong for me to spend some time with my friend? Kaveh is also my savior and I trust him with my life." You whisper as you pull your knees closer to yourself, "Just like how you, Cyno, and Nahida saved me."

His eyes widened for a bit before looking away, "I invited you out for lunch since you are always stuck inside here."

"We can go out for lunch some other time, I won't be going away for a while. Besides, even if my body becomes stronger, I don't have anywhere else to go anyway."
