Treasure Street, Sumeru City, Sumeru

The cool night breeze makes Alhaitham's cloak sway as he helps you walk. You wince a little and he shakes his head before proceeding to carry you like you weigh nothing. You try to keep the hood on your head and you hide your face a little as onlookers crane their necks to check what's happening.

The Acting Grand Sage remains impassive, his face straight forward with you in his arms. Instead of going to his house, he passes by it and heads straight. You can hear murmurs and moans of pain and suffering from a distance and it makes you curious. The smell of disinfectant is suddenly strong here and you use the hood of your cloak to cover your nose as well.

Alhaitham sees your unease and he whispers, "I'm sorry if this can be overwhelming but I need to get some painkillers for you. I really apologize for…"

"No, no! It's alright, both of us know nothing about what will happen earlier when we..." Your voice trails off and when you don't speak again, you see him trying hard not to grin. You know your face must be red as beets by now when you grumble, "You should've been more careful too, you know."

"I told you it was my first time copulating and I've read something about what happens during and aftercare but," he looks straight at you and you can hear how apologetic he is, "my lack of knowledge is the cause of your pain, I apologize."

"Apology accepted," you whisper as you look around. "Where are we?"

Alhaitham walks closer to a building beside a small pond which is well lit by lamps all around. Even though it's night time already, there's still quite a few people in the area. Some look like they are just waiting while others are in beds or chairs and are being tended by personnel. Your companion nods to someone in a uniform and they immediately take you into a smaller private area. The room is filled with different beds, one is occupied by a very pregnant woman. Her husband looks as tired as she is while they wait quietly in the corner.

"This is Birmastan Hospital which tends to the medical needs of the citizens of Sumeru," Alhaitham finally explains. He writes down something in a form given to him by one of the personnel.

"You didn't need to bring me to a hospital because of…"

You unconsciously close your legs and wince in the pain. He sees your reaction and shakes his head in silence. Not wanting to argue with him, you wait for him silently. A part of his hair bounces whenever his head bobs up and down while he writes on the form and you want to boop it, which you bravely did. Your curiosity earns you a frown from Alhaitham but your smile must've caught him off guard because he just chuckles in response.

"Lie down and rest while we wait for the doctor," he whispers as another hospital staff goes around to cover your area with a curtain. You can hear a bit of commotion from the pregnant lady's area, maybe she's about to give birth.

Your eyes are wide with panic as you grip Alhaitham's arm. He realizes that you do have more sensitive hearing than others and pats your hand, "I will talk to someone, stay calm and I'll be right back."

He kisses your forehead before hastily heading out, leaving you alone for a moment. You can hear the pregnant lady's cries and whimpers and even though you want to run away to stop hearing her pain, you stay and trust Alhaitham's word.

Not five minutes pass when he comes back with another hospital staff member, who's pushing a wheelchair with her. Instead of seating you in the wheelchair, Alhaitham picks you up and asks the staff member to lead you out. She quickly turns around, she even leaves the wheelchair in place, and hurriedly goes off to a place farthest from the main lobby of the hospital. You thought the hospital was too small earlier when you were approaching it but it seems to be magically bigger inside. Soon your group reaches a private room and Alhaitham finally settles you down. The bed also feels somewhat softer and once the staff member closes the door, most outside noises are blocked off.
