In Your Eyes: Empyrean Admonition

You Hide With Kaveh

Treasure Street, Sumeru City, Sumeru

"Good morning." 

"Oh, good morning." 

You can't look at Alhaitham in the eye as both of you stand awkwardly outside the bathroom. Earlier, you quietly pass by him in one of the sofas in the living room to take a quick shower. His back was turned so you didn't know if he was awake or not and you didn't want to disturb him. Turns out, he is also already awake. He is blocking your way out, or maybe you are blocking his way to the toilet. After a weird way of both of you trying to step aside, he enters the bathroom while you quietly walk towards the kitchen. 

Kaveh might feel hungover when he wakes up so you check a cookbook for a recipe that he can easily eat. You settle on a simple soup recipe and while you prepare for cooking, Alhaitham enters the kitchen as well. 

"I was very inconsiderate last night but I don't regret doing anything. Do you?" 

"I don't," you answer honestly. "And thank you for stopping when I asked you to." 

"A day will come when you will be the one to initiate," he says as he starts brewing coffee. "I'm reading books about love-making and different ways to please. There's also this book that teaches different sexual positions…" 

You gasp and look towards Kaveh's room to check if he might overhear. Alhaitham chuckles as you lightly swat his arm. He reaches under your chin and tilts your head up to kiss you on the lips, his kiss is slow and you can't help but kiss him back. 

You hear movement from Kaveh's bedroom and you manage to pull yourself away from Alhaitham before the blonde man emerges. 

"Good morning…" 

After taking a step backward to move away from Alhaitham, you look over to see Kaveh rubbing his eyes. He places a hand on his head as he walks closer.

"Ugh… My head hurts," Kaveh grumbles. "Are you making soup?" 

"It's a recipe I found in one of the cookbooks," you quickly reply as you hand him a glass of water. Kaveh takes out a small bottle from the cupboard, maybe medicine, and he quickly takes it with a grimace. You get a whiff of the medicine's smell, it's so foul that you grimace as well. 

"Tighnari's hangover medicine. I told him to at least make it sweeter but he said it's better this way to remind the people who are taking it that getting too drunk has consequences." 

You chuckle, "That does sound like something Tighnari will say." 

After breakfast, Alhaitham lounges in the living room area while reading a book while you read the book from Mister Zhongli. Kaveh has already retreated to his room to sleep off his hangover. Much of the day is spent in comfortable silence, once Alhaitham is done reading he stands up to prepare for tonight. He goes to his room without disturbing your reading but you can see the change in his demeanor. 

Kaveh exits out of his room looking ghastly. After he eats more soup, the color of his cheeks returns and he asks you what happened last night. 

"I just hope that Cyno will shut up about my living condition," Kaveh says as he washes his face. He shakes his head like a dog from a bath, flicking water on you and both of you laugh. 

"Will you come with us tonight?" 

"Of course I'll be there, you don't even have to ask twice. Where is the meeting?" 

Alhaitham exits out of his room fully dressed, "My other house in Vimara Village. Seeing that you look like you're feeling better, we should go. But I think you should take a bath first, you reek of sweat and last night's alcohol."
