GRACIE couldn't help but notice Charlotte's uneasiness as she kept biting the skin around her nails, trying to calm herself down as the two girls sat in front of the television screen. Gracie reached over, putting her hand on the girl's knee wanting to calm her down but that did nothing. So she reached over to turn of the TV but charlotte still had no reaction, continuing her nervous habit. Gracie studied her other half while trying to recall what specifically made the girl feel this way.

"Charlotte"

With no response, the brunette's suspicions were confirmed that Charlotte had zoned out. A defense mechanism she had used ever since grade school. Gracie gently grabbed onto charlotte's freezing cold hand before squeezing them and quietly talking to her to try and bring her back to reality.

          "Why's the telly off?"

"It's been off for a while, you zoned out"
"What's on your mind"

"Nothing"

"C'mon char, I know you better than that"
"What's up"
"No judgment, im just here"

"I don't know really"
"Maybe overwhelmed I guess"

Charlotte knew that Gracie didn't want or believe overwhelmed as an answer but she was glad that the brunette didn't push for another answer. Instead she just wrapped Charlotte in her arms and allowed for her to relax for the first time today. Charlotte couldn't just spill everything, the events of today and the conversation with Gregory had really thrown her off, of course she was going to be overwhelmed and uneasy. It was so much to process when a random man comes up to you after your father dies and says he wants to take custody of you. Especially after having been living freely for a year or so.

"I think I'm gonna head to bed"
"Coming with?"

"Of course"
