They walked into the ice cream parlour to see no one else in there. Chris immediately walked up to the freezer showcasing all of the delicious flavours to choose from.
"I already know what I want." Nick said, without even looking in the freezer. Chris pressed his face against the glass that separated him and the gorgeous ice cream.
"Chris don't do that." Matt said, pulling him away. "I want them all." Chris said with a sad face. "Pick one." Matt said firmly.
"Nick I'm guessing mint as always?" He asked and Nick just nodded. "What do you want babe?" Matt asked, turning to Audrey.
Audrey just shooed it off and looked into the freezer with 12 different flavours to choose from. "Hm-" she was cut off by Chris's noisy rant. "Babe? Since when?" he asked loudly.
"Chris be quiet you doofus." Nick said, smacking him in the arm. "Ow." Chris said as he rubbed his arm.
"Can I please have the strawberry ice cream?" She asked, turning to him with a smile. "Sweet strawberry for a sweet girl." He smirked, cupping her face with his hand romantically.
"Have you decided what you want yet Chris?" Nick asked, walking over to the freezer, ignoring Matt's comment on Aubrey.
"Hm, this is so hard." Chris said, looking from ice cream to ice cream. "There are so many. But I think I will go with Caramel."
"What are you getting babe?" Aubrey asked in a cute voice.
"I'm gonna get chocolate." He smiled at her.
They got their ice cream and walked out of the shop. "Do you want to try some of mine?" Matt asked, blushing at Audrey.
"YES MATTY BEAR THANK YOU!" Chris squealed, leaping towards him, but just as he was about to lick Matt's ice cream, he pushed him away.
"Not you stupid." Matt stepped to the side and Chris licked the air. "Hey." Chris said grumpily before turning to Aubrey. "Lucky duck." He glared at her as she giggled.
Time Skip!
Nick burst through the door to see Hailey sobbing on her bed. "Why did you text me 911?! What happened?" He asked, running over to her on her bed.
Hailey whimpered and just jumped up into Nick's arms. He held her close, comforting her as she cried and cried.
After a while, he pulled away and she slumped back down onto her bed, looking defeated.
"Are you ready to talk?" Nick asked slowly, sitting down next to her. She just sat there silently, the only sound in the room was her sniffling.
"Where's Chloe?" He asked, realising that she wasn't there. "It's her, and my brother, and you weren't replying to my messages and-and-" Hailey blurted, panicking.
Nick realised that she was having a panic attack. She was shaking and breathing heavily and crying and fidgeting. But he couldn't feel anything but bad for not being there sooner to comfort her.
But all he could do in that moment was to pull her into a hug. He rubbed her back slowly, but her breathing was quickening so he pulled away and took her hand.
She quickly flicked him away and he understood. But then she quickly grabbed his hand again and squeezed it really hard.
"Okay Hailey, you're okay. You can do this. Can you hear me?" He asked, looking into her eyes. She just nodded, not looking at him.
"Breathe with me, okay?" He asked, and she nodded. "In through your nose..." He inhaled and she started inhaling, her breath still quick. "And out..." He said and she followed, taking lots of baby breaths.
After a while, her breathing calmed down and she was alright. "Are you okay now?" He asked, still holding her hand. "Yeah, thank you so much Nick, I don't know what I would do without you." She smiled. He smiled back and let go of her hand.
"Are you ready to talk now?" He asked calmly. She looked at him, her smile immediately fading.
His stomach suddenly dropped to his toes as he had the feeling it had something to do with Chloe.
"It's Chloe." She said quietly.
"She likes someone else.."
