Khalid's POV
"So how did it go?" I looked over my shoulder and saw Amanda smiling with a face filled with hunger from curiosity to knowledge. "I'm guessing it went well." I looked over my other shoulder and saw Rebecca. "You know what I've learnt about girls?" I said as I stopped walking. "What?" Rebecca questioned me as she drinks water slowly."That you guys never leave a poor soul alone when you're in need of something." They really do though. Do you know how many texts and missed calls I got from Amanda while I was talking to brother? It's Insane.
"Oh come Khalid, we don't need this. Just tell us, how did it go?" Amanda said as usual losing her patience. "Well I could lie and say that it was horrible, but I'm not a lair and I really want you guys off my back so yeah, it went according to plan." "Khalid, you better be telling the truth or so help me I will-" "Chill Amanda. It really went well." "So what did he notice?" Amanda said as she sits down crossed legged. "Please don't ask me that, I can't re live it again." "What do you mean?" Rebecca asked. "It was so gross. He was talking about her lips and eyes and well the eyes I see because you know their very charming, but that's not the point. He got to the lips. That's just all kinds of wrong." I confusingly watched both of the girls as they both burst into laughter. "Ohh Khalid, I swear you kill me." Rebecca said as she tried to get a hold of herself. "What's so funny?" "Your face expression." "Oookayy. Anyways I'll catch up with you girls in a few." "Where you going?" Amanda asked. "To talk to Jannah. I have to convince her into working with us in this project." "Alright see you later." Rebecca said while waving.
*Knock Knock* I knocked on Jannah's office door waiting for a reply. "Come in!" I pressed the red button and the door opened. There she was, Jannah sitting on her chair as usual talking to clients on the phone while taking notes. I walk in slowly trying to not disturb her and I sit down patiently waiting for her the end her call.
"Alright, thank you so much." She stops talking and listens carefully staring onto the floor nodding her head. "Uh huh Mhmm..." "Yeah... Don't worry I got you." And then she laughs quietly. Wait what am I doing? Am I actually paying attention to her every move? Nope, I can't be doing this. "Aright, see you tomorrow. Have a good night." She hangs of the phone gently and looks up at me with a huge heartwarming smile.
"I am so sorry." Why is she apologizing? It's making me feel like she did something wrong which she didn't. "It was very urgent." "No no no, there's no need to apologize. It's fine." I said returning a smile. "Friend of yours?" I questioned her. "No, that was Mr. Freedman. I had to ask him a question." She replied with a smile. I nod my head a couple of times raising my eye brow with a smirk. Why am I doing that? I only do that to impress girls.
"So, Khalid what brings you here? You do know that I'm upset with you right?" "Why?" I said putting my hands on the desk smiling. "Well you relay come to my office." "I know I'm sorry. It's just that the project I'm working on is getting out of hand." "What do you mean? Is everything okay?" "I wish I could say that but I can't." "Oh no. Tell me do you need help?" "Actually I could really use a helping hand." "Well, I don't mind helping you. Anytime." "Are you sure? I mean you already have a lot on your hands you know with the Freedman case." "Yeah, but I'm done with my research." "Are you sure that you could double up the cases?" "Trust me. I'll handle it just fine." "Well then great?" I said as I smiled putting my hands in the air. "So when is the deadline for your project?" "Tomorrow." "What? You do realize that you're running out of time right?" She said laying her head on her hands that are on the table.
I think I'm going insane because now I see the things brother noticed. Her cheekbones that are touched by her dimples were touching her smile. Her laugh was very adorable something you can listen to all day. All I can see is her mouth moving and her smiling. I couldn't hear any words, I'm completely frozen. What is going on with me?
