Mr. Malak's POV
"Brother?" I turned my head slowly to catch Khalid standing behind the door waiting for my response. "Yeah?" "May I come in?" I nod my head at him as I leaned back on my chair firmly. He opens the door and stares at me with a heart threading face. A face I've never seen before. He closes the door behind him without turning around and then walks in slowly sitting down. "Brother." He pauses for a moment catching my gaze. "Here" He said as he throws his phone over the desk showing no emotion. "What is it?" I asked him out of curiosity. "I'm pretty sure that if you look you'll find out. Don't you think?" "What's with the attitude and sarcasm?" I asked him raising my eye brow up. "Just look."
I looked down at my desk and picked up the phone turning it on. There was an email video which appeared to be from the guy who kidnapped Jannah. I look up at Khalid who still seems to be showing no emotion staring at me with clod blooded eyes. I put my glance back on the phone and pressed the play button slowly watching it.
"Hello friend. Did you miss me?" The devil's shadow spoke. I looked closely into the phone and saw Jannah behind sleeping. At least I hope that that's what she is doing. "I sure hope so. I mean it's been two weeks and two days since we've talked. Anyway let me cut to the case---" He turns his head around and puts the camera on Jannah. A few minutes later he came back with a bucket full of water throwing it on her. She gasps as she tried to catch her breath staring at him. "Good Evening sleeping beauty." He said smirking. Boy do I want to take that stupid smirk off of his face.
He turns his head back at the camera, "You see this here? This is a scar." He said as he points to Jannah's leg which was filled with blood. "I did this here. If you want your little reporter back, you better send me the money. Now you've seen her hurt even more than the first time, next time you won't. She'll be dead." He said threatening her life and us as well. "Let me know your decision, I'll call in the afternoon. Remember one move and she's gone." He said laughing evilly pointing his fingers at me.
"You see brother. We need to take action." Khalid said as he stanches the phone away from my hands. "But the video isn't done yet." "Trust me. You don't want to see the rest." "Why not?" "Because it'll only hurt you and your stomach!" He said shouting back at me. "Give me the damm phone!" I said taking it away from his hands.
I stared at the phone and my body started to shiver getting filled with disgust. "Take this! And this!" He said smacking Jannah in the face. Khalid was right. I can't watch this. "I promise you, I'll make sure that the rebel pays for his sin." He said aggressively. I turn the phone of throwing it back to Khalid.
"Brother. We have to do something." He says picking himself up from the desk finally killing the silence. "The police are at it." "The police?!" He said shouting at me. "THEY COULD HAVE BEEN GOT HER HERE SAFLY A WEEK AGO BUT THEY DON'T GIVE A CARP! HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU TO UNDERSTAND?" He said smacking his fist on the desk standing up.
"Lower your voice and watch your tone!" I yelled back. "Are you freeken kidding me?! You mean we should just sit down here waiting for her body to be sent to us?" "That's not what I'm saying." "That's exactly what you're saying!" "I just think that we should wait until the right moment." "Screw you Malak. You're a filthy dirt bag. I swear." He said as he marches out of the room slamming the door behind him. "Khalid!" I yell but it didn't stop him.
Khalid's POV
Brother is a sick a man. How could he say that? You know what? I'm not going to sit here another minute. It's time I take action. I'm going to find Jannah and bring her back safely. I quickly rush outside standing at the streets closing my eyes Imaging Jannah running. I breathe in and out slowly trying to kill the stress away so that I could relax.
