Mr. Malak's POV

"She lost a lot of blood and is in a critical condition... And as for the boy, his okay but he has gained a minor spine fraction." I don't know how to explain it but those words just keep coming back in my head. I been trying to avoid them and push them aside but they won't leave me alone nor let me sit in peace.

Maybe I do regret sitting around waiting for the police. But nevertheless what brother did is unacceptable! What on earth was he thinking? Thinking that he could save Jannah all alone. He could have at least invited me or someone to help him. His such a fool. He could have died. And then what? What would I say if he died? What would I do? How would Amanda cope with this?

After all she grew up being attached to her big brother. Sho – Someone interpreted my thoughts. I looked up the door to catch someone looking around the room. "Mr. Malak?" I stood up "Yes." I said as I watched the nurse walking up to me with some files on her hands.

"Is brother okay?" Amanda cut in standing up aside from me. "Brother?" The nurse said as she looks at me and Amanda twice. "Yes. This is my little sister." I said conforming her. She nods her head in awe of agreement and continues.

"Yes his fine. But the doctors believe that he has a spine fraction." "What?" Amanda questioned angrily yet sadden as she puts her hands over her mouth. "Do you know how?" "Were not so sure what happened down there. But judging from the X- ray provided it looks like he fell behind a rock or got it by it or something." "Is there anything else you want to tell me?" I said hoping for good news of Jannah.

"Yes, he is now awake you can go ahead and see him if you'd like al---" before she finished her sentence, Amanda dashes of to the room quickly pushing people aside. "I'm sorry about that. She--" "It's okay." She said smiling back at me. I looked up into to her eyes and realized how long it's taking her to continue. She keeps on smiling at me staring beneath my eyes constantly.

It's just a matter of time I ask her about Jannah or else she won't tell me. I'd really like this awkward moment to fade away. "And as for the girl? Is she alright?" Rebecca jumped in saving me before I say anything. The nurse quickly looks away staring at Rebecca with an embarrassed face expression. She looked as if she forgot that someone else was in the room.

"Well she lost a lot of blood so she's in a coma..." I looked at Rebecca as she gasped with a worried look. You want to know how I feel? I don't know how to explain my feeling.

Everything, all of the colored things in the room just changed to black. I open my mouth staring at the nurse in the gesture of I don't want to hear any more news. Yet again she still continues. "If she does wake up from the coma, she'd have less chances to speak. It'd take her a day or more so we can't get any information on what happened down there in order to inform the police."

"Aye." Rebecca says with a broken down voice as she sits down on the chair resting her head on her hands. Thankfully as soon as the nurse see's the worried looks on both of our faces, she decides to add in some good news.

"But don't worry. The results indicate that she might wake up today." "But you said that she lost a lot of blood?" Rebecca said putting her head up.

"Yeah, but it's not that critical for her to stay in a coma for quite a time." "Okay thank you." I said to her adding a smile. "You're very welcome." She walks away putting on her glasses.

I looked down at Rebecca trying to confront her. "Why are you so worried? She's going to be fine." I said as I sat next to her patting her shoulder. "How can you be so sure?" "I know Jannah. Trust me, we all know that she's brave." "I know bu—" "Stop putting doubts in your head. It's going to be fine."
