[Yeonjun's POV]
Everything I thought Chaewon was turned out to be wrong. She was the one to make me suffer and I didn't even realize. It never crossed my mind until she told me herself. It hurts more because she clearly hinted at it too and I didn't think about it, because I believed that she wouldn't attempt to infect me. I can't forgive her, I don't think I can yet. But like Soobin, I still want to believe she's a good person. That's why I'm still friends with her.
I'm still willing to work with Chaewon if it does help us find the cure. Speaking of which, the rest of us went straight to the elevator in the cave to make our way into the lab. Everyone there was waiting for us. We were all given flashlights by Beomgyu who brought them along.
"Okay guys, let's split up. If someone finds the cure just call out to the others," Chaewon said.
"I'm okay with that, we don't know how big this lab is..." Beomgyu said.
"Let's still be careful though," Dahyun said.
"Got it, let's do this!" Haerin said.
"Wait who's that?" Chaeyoung asked and pointed at a person.
It was Huening Kai who was placing down explosives. Soobin walked on ahead and I followed him. Kai noticed us and turned to face us.
"Soobin..." Huening Kai said.
"Huening Kai..." Soobin said. They were both far into the hallway by now, myself in somewhat the middle part of it, and the rest near the elevator.
"Who's he?" Eunchae asked.
"That's Huening Kai, one of the former Stray Kids members..." Jimin said.
"Listen, I-" Soobin said.
"Cut the crap Soobin, YOU are a mess. You've hurt everyone you've gotten close to," Kai said.
"Just hear me out!" Soobin said.
"You know what? No! You're like a tyrant when I got to know you! You've been nothing but a bully ever since I met you!" Kai said. "There was a time I was afraid of you, but now I'm standing up for myself!"
I must say, Huening Kai has developed nicely. But he doesn't realize that Soobin himself is also trying to change himself for the better. Soobin however didn't take it well.
"I fed you, sheltered you, and kept you safe. This is my thanks?!"
"It's more than you deserve!"
"Let's settle this then, me against a 6 foot penguin with a big mouth. I wonder how well you can fare against me..."
"You're about to find out!" Huening Kai and Soobin charged at each other and began fighting.
"STOP THAT, CUT IT OUT YOU TWO!" I shouted. They ignored me and continued fighting, both of them being even when it comes to strength.
"Looks like you're a pretty good fighter..." Soobin said.
"I used to be a soldier in the military!" Kai said shocking me. "There's more I can do you know?"
They continued fighting until Soobin got the upperhand and got Kai into a choke hold. However, the explosives that Huening Kai planted exploded causing parts of the lab to collapse blocking off parts of the lab. I could no longer hear Soobin or Kai fighting.
"Great... Now I have to find a way out of here on my own..." I said.
"YEONJUN!" I heard Chaewon shout from the other side of the debris blocking me from the elevator.
