Once upon a time, on a night so long ago

Death stood by, old and cold

Stalking their prey, they stumbled upon a sight so bold

a feeling it wretched from the deity, once lost thought sold

A bond of familial origin, a warmth the sight did show

A child playing with a father, putting on a puppet show

Death felt their heart ache, thumping with desire

They knew what to do, and so lit the fire

Underneath the night sky, the wind told not a peep

Death spilled the blood of a mortal, bringing them permanent sleep

As the blood poured out, still warm and pooling

Death broke off two ribs, to mix before the cooling

The mixture of both parts, mortal and more

brought two children into existence, forevermore

under the night's sky, endless and deep

Death welcomed their children, into their new family they'll forever keep

Death welcomed their children, into their new family they'll forever keep

Until people took notice, their fear soon growing

Death hid their children away, forever in mourning

One thing they left too, a forever tie of blood

The essence of death, overflowing in flood

The children then grew, with one thing in common

"Though we are deemed half-breed, your life lies in our palms
