"What is this garbage"? The elderly man yelled in the face of the boy who stood before him and his wife with his head low. "Seventy four percent? This what we send u to extra classes to be scoring when finals for the year comes around"? The woman shouted like her husband breaking the boys heart even more. "If y/n had ever gotten a score like this when she was your age she would've had a panic attack over it you came in here with a big smile on your face to give us this nonsense"? The boy did nothing but quietly cry with his head hung low.

"Did u even study all those hours u were in your room after dinner jimin"? He nodded his head, earning a smack on his head from his mother making him flinch. "Give your father a proper answer boy". "Y-yes appa I did study". "Then what is this"??? Jimin spoke no further. His father tore apart his report card and told him off to him room. This was his day to day life, being scolded by his parents cause he never met their expectations like his older sister did when she was his age. At 14 he just wanted to relax a little but they put his into extra classes to keep him active in studies.

Every test and quiz no matter how much he studied jimin never managed to score above 60 and it always ended in him being scolded till he cried himself to sleep. His parents no longer even speak to him properly, studies were never his interest but he still tried, this time he scored about 70 he thought they'd be proud of him for once but yet again he was scolded. His little heart yearned for some encouragement from his parents and nice words rather than harshness and scolding, but his faith was never as he hoped.

They always compared him to his older sister, she doesn't even live with them anymore, years ago she moved to New Zealand where she has her own company and lives in her own penthouse. He always looked up to her, she's 25, a very polite person she always adored him, never failed to spoil him rotten while she still lived with them, his parents words comparing them never gave jimin a bad image of his sister he knew better, he just wished for them to see him for who he was and not to try to form him into a print of his sister.

He hasn't spoken to her in all the years she's moved out, when she left he didn't have a phone yet to take her number and now that he does have a phone his parents don't allow him to have it as punishment for disappointing them leaving him stranded.

Jimin layed on his bed staring at his ceiling as tears soaked his pillow on both sides of his head, pulling back the sleeves of his oversized sweater he looked at his scared arms. Endless cuts decorated his flawless skin, for years after every failure he made he put a new cut on his arm. That was his reminder...he needed to do better. Sitting up he reached into the drawer of his bedside table, pulling out a blade he looked at the dried blood on it and smiled. "The only thing I'm good at....messing things up". He whispered to himself as he put another long cut on his forearm and let down his sleeves enjoying the burn.

As time passed by he fell asleep without eating.

As he woke up next morning he groaned feeling pain in his arm, looking at his sleeve it was soaked in blood that had dried ans attached to his skin causing a pull on the cut that hurt alot. Looking around he saw the time was already after 10 making him sigh, his parents didn't even bother to wake him or look for him. Getting up he did his morning routine and bandaged his arm to stop it from bleeding during the day and headed out of his room. He was now on summer break but he wasn't excited as his parents never allowed him to go out with his friends.

He frowned as the house was in total silence normally he'd hear his parents talking or his father attending calls with business partners but they were just gone. Assuming they went out he sat on the couch and watched TV, he had no appetite to eat breakfast so he didn't even look toward the kitchen. As he was getting invested in the show be was Watching he heard a car pull up, looking out he saw his father stepping out of his car making him switch off the TV and lay down hugging his plushie that he had beside him.

He heard his parents laughing as they came in making him frown, they never laugh like that around him. Then another unfamiliar voice joined theirs making him sit up to see who their guest was. His eyes trippled in size as he gripped his plushie even tighter, he couldn't believe he was seeing who he thought he was seeing. As the three adults approached him he saw his parents faces turn serious, much more familiar to him. His father cleared his throat and spoke.

"Jimin...don't just sit there, greet your sister". His jaw dropped. Y/N chuckled seeing her little brothers expression. "Seems that no one mentioned to you I was coming this summer to spend 2 weeks. Come on bub, give me a hug". She opened her arms making him drop his plushie in a heart beat he skipped over the couch and bolted into her arms. She was alot taller so he hugged around her waist putting his head on her shoulder. "Aww, you haven't changed one bit, still my adorable baby brother". He let out happy tears as he snuggled into his sisters protective arms. "I'm not a baby". He whispered making her laugh.

"You're always a baby in my eyes". They were enjoying their moment till their mother cut in. "Alright jimin that's enough, let her go, I'm sure she's tired from her long trip, let her go to her room and freshen up". Jimin stiffened at his mother's strict voice and pulled back hanging his head a little. "It's okay eomma, I missed this little bean so much". "We know y/n but you've been on a plain for so many hours, you know where your room is a maid already carried up your bags, go get fresh and take some rest, we'll all talk later". Their father gave her a small smile which she returned and nodded.

"Alright, I'll be up in my room if anyone needs me". Their parents nodded as she left. Once they heard her door close they turned to jimin who took his place back on the couch hugging his plushie. "Don't think because your sister is here now your routine changes, after dinner you're going to do more practice papers till its your bed time, got it"? His father asked roughly. "Yes appa". "Good".

Their father left to his office and their mother went to her garden and left him all to himself. He badly wanted to spend time with his sister, he missed her warmth, she was the only person who's presence gave him comfort but he was scared if his parents caught him and scolded him for disturbing her making him walk past her door as he went upstairs and headed straight to his room where he spent the rest of his day into the evening when they all gathered for dinner.

Jimin sat beside his father while the seat beside his mother was empty that was y/n's spot, maids served dinner as they waited for her who showed up within the next few seconds wearing cargo pants and a loose tank top her hair was damp showing she just showered. "Sorry if I had you all waiting, I fell asleep and didn't manage to monitor the time, I woke up and got ready as quickly as I could". Their parents smiled. "It's okay honey...come sit beside me". Their mother pushed out her chair making her sit with a smile.

"Oh my, look at your arms y/n, their quite muscular, and defined, you work out"? Their mother asked with a smile as she touched y/n's exposed bicep. Y/N scratched her nape shyly. "I've been working out few years now, couple of my friends encouraged me as I already had little definition with my muscles". "That's good you're like me back in my day I was a heartthrob". She laughed at her father's statement and they had dinner, everyone talked except jimin which didn't go unnoticed by y/n making her call out to him.

"So....what have u been up to bub? If I remember right you're 14? Do you hang out with your friends, I remember there's this really cool scate park my friends and I used to camp out there when I was in high-school". She smiled but that dropped when he answered. "I don't go out with my friends....I come straight home to study...after dinner I do practice papers till it's time to go to bed". He gave her a small smile. "Practice papers? You guys never made me do those, why does he have to? He should get some rest, let him go out and get a breather".

Their father quickly objected. "His grades are far too low y/n he needs to study, the boy never manages to cross average. It's summer but he'll be here doing work, he needs to get himself together no words against it". Y/N wasn't at all happy with what wished was hearing but she spoke no further and had her dinner. In the middle of dinner jimin stood up. "I'm done, I'm going to start working, goodnight everyone". Y/N looked at his plate and saw he'd barely ate anything making her concerned.

"Eomma he hasn't finished much of anything on his plate". Her mother sighed. "He does that all the time I've stopped trying let him be". Now she was worried and made up he mind to speak to her little brother before the night ends.
