Collecting seashells and broken rocks had become a habit for Maleia. The warm weather burnt against her skin whilst her toes buried beneath the damp sand. Savouring these moments because she knew serenity doesn't last too long for her. However, she then stumbled upon Kiri's head dug beneath the water.

A smile covered her face. It was nice to notice someone admiring her home. Without a second thought, Maleia laid down on the sand beside Kiri— both of them staring at the small holes forming within the sand.

It wasn't strange nor awkward. Kiri and Maleia both wanting this moment of peace. Until the two heard muffled words from above the surface, and laughter.

Kiri and Maleia sat up out of the water, twisting her head at the sight of her brother and friends standing there, "Hi, brother."

Ao'nung didn't stop the smile forming around his lips— finding himself to always having a soft spot for his sister. "Did you say something?" Kiri asked them all.

But then, Ao'nung's sharp tongue that he learnt from his mother suddenly cut the sweet moment sour, "Are you some kind of freak?" Maleia looked up at her brother, confused at the question.

"Ao'nung, do not! Leave her alone..." Attempting to settle the situation between them all. How could he be so abrupt and rude with someone admiring their sand?

"He asked if you are a freak," One of his friends broke the conversation. Kiri stood and began to walk from the all, "No." Her hands immediately wrapping the woven shawl around her shoulders tighter.

"Are you sure?" Ao'nung then stepped in front of Kiri, "I mean. You are not even true Na'vi. Look at those hands."

There was nothing Maleia hated more than picking on someone. And here her brother was, picking on someone for something that Kiri couldn't control.

"Kiri has done nothing to bother you, brother!" Maleia announced before stepping in front of Kiri's stance. Kiri reached her hand out to Maleia's shoulder, letting her know that everything was fine.

But, Maleia was stubborn and she was strong-headed about some things. "Leave her alone," Maleia warned her brother.

Ao'nung looked down at his sister, confused about her strong protection towards someone who had demon blood. "Back off, fish lips," Lo'ak exclaimed as he stormed to them.

"Oh, another four-fingered freak!" Ao'nung announced as he held up his hands. Scowling, Maleia shook her head in disbelief towards her brothers words before one of his friends grabbed at Lo'ak's tail.

"Leave us alone!" Kiri shouted to them all. Maleia slapped at her brothers arms, wanting him to listen to them and leave them alone, "I will not tell you again, Ao'nung."

But, Maleia stumbled back when Neteyam pushed at Ao'nung. Lo'ak's arm reaching out to make sure she caught her balance, Neteyam throwing her an apologetic look.

"You heard what she said— leave them alone," Neteyam's finger tapped on Ao'nung, warning him, "Back off... now."

Surrendering, Ao'nung placed his hands into the air. Maleia took Lo'ak's hand before beginning to drag them away. "Smart choice. From now on, I need you to respect my sister," Neteyam reminded them.

But, that still didn't stop Ao'nung from beginning to call them all freaks again. Even the one with only three fingers. That was when Maleia felt Lo'ak's hand release from within her soft grasp.

"I know this hand is funny... Look, I'm a freak. Alien. But, it can do something really cool. Watch... First, I ball it up real tight like this. Okay? Then—" Without a warning, Lo'ak threw his fist up into the air and punched Ao'nung straight on his cheek.

Before, continuing another two times.

Maleia's eyes widened as she watched the blood drip from Ao'nung's nose. "It's called a punch, bitch! Don't ever touch my sister again," Lo'ak warned him.

But, Ao'nung wouldn't take that lightly. He stood and then hissed at Lo'ak, running to tackle him onto the ground.

Neteyam scratched his head in thought before deciding to join his brother. Maleia covering her mouth in shock. "Is it always like this?" Maleia asked Kiri, "Mother is going to be so mad."
