In his dreams, he brashly involved her with the media when she came by his condo in the morning after signing the contract with him. Rumors of his disownment were starting to circle in the news at the time and her conscience urged her to go to him in hopes of reversing his demise.
She had no idea he has no plans of cooperating. Afterall, he had always wanted to get away from his father who made it his goal to meddle in his life, and getting out of the family register is a surefire solution to his problem. So after inviting her inside his unit, he confirmed the rumors to the media via call, and voluntarily shared his address.
The moment Amaryllis stepped out of his unit, cameras flashed in her face, and the journalists quickly wrote a sensational headline of a rich heir falling in love with a commoner, causing his disownment.
His father was not happy with the news, and so began harrassments against Amaryllis behind Chryses Taylor's back. He had only discovered about it months later when he witnessed Amaryllis getting slapped by a woman who his father had set up for him. It was an attempt of convincing his child to return to the family by offering him his previous inheritance as long as he marries any of the girls he chose.
In retaliation, Chryses formally announced his ownership of WALL, and through a presscon, shot down preconceived notions of the media of any sort of reconciliation with his father.
Chryses couldn't deny his actions in the dream, because he would have done the same in reality, but knowing the possibility of having the same consequences, he grew anxious after having a flashback of the first dream he had. Every dream seems to be connected, and he figured the recurring nightmare is the end result of the decisions he made in all the dreams he had.
And now... The stabbing incident, which supposedly takes place while they were eating together after enrollment. Earlier, he would have wanted to contest against Bouvier's arrogant words, however, he was plagued with worry of the event coming to life. And yet after meeting coincidentally, he decided to stay at the cafe, thinking nothing would probably happen...
He didn't coerce her into having a meal with him like he did in the dream, but he was terribly wrong. The intention wasn't the sole reason. The end-result is also a variable, and in the end, the two of them ate at one table.
"Tell me." Despite fighting the drowsiness, Chryses' eyes were beginning to feel heavy. "What should I do, Amaryllis?" he muttered as he ultimately slumbered.
On the bed, Amaryllis began to gain consciousness, just in time for the doctor's rounds.
"You've finally come to, Miss Amaryllis? How are you feeling?" The female medical professional smiled at her as she checked how far she was with her IV fluid.
Amaryllis squinted as she looked at the doctor groggily. "...Fine?"
"Maybe I should wake up your boyfriend to help explain the situation." The doctor seemed to see through her confusion when Amaryllis grimaced at the pain in her stomach when she tried to move.
"...Huh?" Amaryllis finally noticed the body laying its head on the bed, where a platinum blond hair glimmered under the dim lights at the rise and fall of the person's chest. His warm breath tickled her fingers, and she reluctantly pulled her hand to her belly, careful not to stimulate any more pain than what she was already feeling. By the looks of it, it seems like she was really stabbed. She still doesn't understand why she was targeted, however. She doesn't recall offending anyone to warrant such a violent revenge.
"Sir? Sir, your girlfriend woke up-"
"No- Don't wake him." Amaryllis quikcly requested, not wanting to speak to him yet. "I can handle myself... For now."
The doctor reluctantly followed her suggestion before explaining the surgery they performed. Fortunately, the stab didn't damage any organs, so she'll be able to recover without major concerns.
"When will I be able to leave? Also, may I be transfered in a ward?" Now that her immediate concern was answered, Amaryllis started worrying about the bill, seeing she was confined in a private room. Her aunt must have thought of her comfort, but it's better to spare money when she can recover in a cheaper room. Speaking of her aunt, where is she? Why is Chryses here?
"Considering the severity of your condition, the maximum time for confinement may reach up to seven days, or more, depending on how fast you'll be able to recover. It's important that you must not move too quickly for the first twenty four hours in order to prevent reccurence of bleeding. During that time, we will also need to observe you, until you are able to walk safely on your own. In the meantime, please ask your guardian for assistance when you need to move." The doctor paused to breath before resuming.
"As for your request to transfer, that can be done, however, I suggest we postpone the move until tomorrow when you are more stablized."
"...I see. Thank you very much, doctor." Amaryllis smiled weakly.
"There's no need to transfer in the ward." A baritone voice suddenly interrupted the doctor when she was about to speak again. "You will recover better in a safe, and quiet environment."
Amaryllis turned her neck at Chryses who was straightening his back while brushing his fringe back with a sigh.
"I agree with your guardian, Miss Amaryllis." The doctor nodded at the flustered girl.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" Chryses asked, looking at Amaryllis who didn't know how to answer his question.
"Well, the patient must have thought you needed rest, too, Mr. Taylor." The doctor supplied after an awkward silence. When none of them still spoke after that, she decided to relay the same information she told Amaryllis to the man who had just woken up.
"Also, the patient must have a strict soft diet to help with the recovery. Blended fruit drink, soups and the like... Well then... if there are no questions, I'll come back later to check on the IV drip." The doctor slowly retreated while exchanging glances between the two people in the room.
"...Do you need to go the restroom?" Chryses' sudden unexpected question after the soft sound of the door closing made Amaryllis sputter, as she was reminded yet again of her bladder that was about to burst while the doctor was narrating her postoperative care.
Where is her aunt?
