"Ah, sheesh... I told you I'd pay, didn't I? Just not now. I'm still waiting for my parents to send me my allowance. I'll give it to you then." As expected, his previous friendliness was only a guise to achieve his goal.

"That's what you've been telling me for over a month. I've already exhausted what little money I have. You have to pay me today." Amaryllis didn't back down as she stopped him in his tracks when he tried to get away from her. She was sure her luck wouldn't allow her to meet him alone like he was right now. And so she couldn't possibly let this chance slip.

"This damned-" He clicked his tongue and heaved a sigh before resuming, "I promise I'll pay you back next month, okay?"

"Don't think I didn't hear you talk with your friends about going to the internet cafe today. I know you have money. If you can't pay me in full, then at least pay in installments. Finals is approaching, and I'll need it even more because of the projects." She stared up at him in determination.

Harrison's face turned a shade red, realizing he was caught lying. "Whatever! I'm not the one paying in the internet cafe, okay-?"

Amaryllis' brows furrowed in anger. "You think I didn't hear you yell that you'd be paying for everyone a while ago? You've been lying to me all along. You know I've worked hard for that money. Are you planning to put it off until the end of the semester? I can't believe you!"

"The fuck-!? I already said I'd pay next month! Besides, don't you have a part-time job? Make do with it for now. I'm leaving! You should know I still have classes in the morning today." He sidestepped her and proceeded to leave, but Amaryllis wasn't having any of it.

"I'd do that if I wasn't fired because of you! So please just give me something to cover my travel expenses, at least-!"

Some guy suddenly appeared, interrupting her speech. "Harrison! What the hell are you doing? We've been waiting for you for a while now! Let's leave already. The cafes will be packed if we leave any later."

Harrison stared at the guy, sputtering. He probably thought he'd get away with another one of his lies. Amaryllis was fuming when she heard it. So now he doesn't have morning classes?

"You lied to me. Twice... You... You just dumped your problem on me that day, didn't you?"

Harrison couldn't speak as his face turned a shade darker. That was enough confirmation for her.

"I. Want. Everything. Back. Right. Now." she gritted out as she glared at him.

His friend closed the distance and stared at the two of them. "What's wrong? Did I interrupt something?" he asked with interest.

"Why don't you ask your friend?" Amaryllis spat back as the bell rang. Students began to fill the lobby, and more of Harrison's friends joined him. Soon, some of their classmates also spotted them and came over to scratch their curiosities.

"What happened, Harrison? Did you do something again?" His friend tapped him on his shoulder, making him flinch.

Harrison suddenly pointed at Amaryllis' face and exclaimed, "I didn't do anything wrong! It's her! She'd been pestering me to no end, even though I told her I'd eventually pay her back. It wasn't like the reservation fee was a huge sum of money. Also, she's completely in the wrong! If she didn't insist that she'd be the one to make a reservation, then this wouldn't have even happened."

Amaryllis was too shocked at his blatant lie that she couldn't immediately come up with a response. She didn't think he'd even throw his conscience to save face!

"What's happening here..?" The crowd parted, and Melinda came forth. Her eyes first went to Harrison, then to Amaryllis in distaste. "You again?"

In the blink of an eye, the tables quickly turned against Amaryllis.

"Is this about that measly reservation fee?" Melinda's brows shot up in indignation.

Harrison nodded with a similar attitude. "That's right! This bitch has been pestering me about it-"

"Oi, Harrison..." His friend frowned with obvious disapproval at his choice of words, but the latter was undeterred as he continued after a derisive huff.

"But she's just so annoying! She even tried to embarrass me when it was her who made a mistake-"

Amaryllis cut him off, feeling her patience wearing thin. "I tried to embarrass you?" She let out a huff in disbelief. "I didn't do that at all, but do you want me to show everyone our conversation and really embarrass you? At least then, you'll have a reason to believe I was trying to humiliate you."

Harrison quickly shut his mouth, his eyes swimming left and right. "Th-then show them. Not like I did anything wrong..." Even a child would notice that his bravado was just a façade.

"You're still twisting the facts even at this moment?" Melinda's words were directed to the black-haired female who stood opposite Harrison. The woman's bewildered eyes focused on Melinda, making the latter shudder with excitement at how she would soon make Amaryllis crumble in front of everyone here... Everyone, including Chryses. Amaryllis had become much of an eyesore lately, trying to catch Chryses' attention with her Mary Sue theatrics, annoying not only Melinda but a few other of Chryses' admirers, as well. While the other girls wish to stay passive, Melinda chose to take action and show everyone that rats will only ever belong to the sewers, picking Amaryllis as her unfortunate example for being the most vexing.

"I can prove Harrison's words to be true. But what about you? What can a mere exchange of messages prove when you can readily fake those?"

A look of comprehension instantly crossed Amaryllis' eyes at Melinda's words. She felt pleased that Amaryllis is aware of her boundaries. If the little slut knows that much then she shouldn't ever dream of going against her. This made the smile on Melinda's face more pronounced as she brought out her bulky wallet. "How much was the reservation fee?" She grabbed a handful of bills and held it in front of the dark-haired bitch.

"Would this be enough?" It was obviously more than enough. The thickness was two times more than what Amaryllis had paid. "Here. Take it."

Amaryllis calmly raised her hand to take it, not really thinking of keeping it for herself. Rather, she would give it to Harrison, who was frantically saying he doesn't have money. However, she didn't expect Melinda to drop it as soon as Amaryllis' fingers were about to clasp around the money.
