I kneel down taking the pretty and light pink dahlia in my hand.
It's so beautiful and seems to be freshly cut. I continue walking noticing that it's not just one dahlia but a whole trail of them. I lightly smile to myself as I continue picking up each one the further I walk into the forest.
The lovely flowers end up leading me to a whole bunch of other ones. It's where they seem to have been cut from because this looks like the only place where they seem to be growing. It's quite a small space but it's beautiful and feels a little magical in a way.
The sound of ducks quacking gets my attention now. I gently place the dahlias I collected down on the ground, and I follow the sound of the birds.
I'm led right to a huge pond. There are three ducks wandering around it with a few geese and I fall in love with the majestic swans in the water. It's not often that you see them. They're such gorgeous and elegant birds. I've never seen them in person until now.
A familiar stare takes my attention away from them. I see the man I love sitting in a small wooden boat that is at the edge of the pond. He is smiling while staring at me and I almost feel like blushing at the realization.
"Ace, how did you find this place?" I ask walking toward him to join him on the cozy looking boat.
"It's not really a fun story." He responds taking my hand to help me in.
"I still want to hear it." I tell him as I take a seat across from him.
He nods accepting my request that came out more like a demand.
"I was around here with some of my men looking for an idiot that was trying to hide so that we wouldn't kill him." He was right. That's not a fun story.
"I think that's all I need to hear, amor." I take the hand that he holds out in front of me.
I initially think that he just wants to hold my hand, but I'm proven wrong and caught off guard when he basically pulls me onto him. I'm on his lap now and I happily lay my head against his shoulder, welcoming the feeling of him close to me. The warmth of his body and his big arms wrap around me protectively bring such comfort.
"I love you." He looks down at me before kissing me hard.
"I love you." I say between the kisses.
"The dahlias were so beautiful and a perfect little touch to this surprise." I inform him when he pulls back.
"I couldn't find any sunflowers nearby and settled for those."
"I'm glad, they're beautiful." I kiss him on the cheek.
"I also think they have such a beautiful name. Dahlia." I sound it out because I love the sound of it.
"They do." He agrees and it's then that a thought comes to me.
"I think that it would be a beautiful name for our daughter." I can't help speaking the thought and the way it comes out.
I immediately feel Ace tense but I'm not sure if I regret saying what I did. He wants a future with me so he must know that I do want children.
"Daughter? Our daughter?" He looks at me with furrowed brows. He is so confused it's adorable.
"Yes, I want a daughter someday. When we have her, we will name her Dahlia." I've made up my mind with the name. It has been said and it will be done.
"You want to have a daughter with me?" He doesn't seem to believe it, but he has a hopeful look on his face. His small smile tells me that he likes the idea of it.
"Of course." I'm so sure if it.
"You obviously have to be the father of my children if you plan to marry me." I explain the obvious and he chuckles in content.
"Then, we have a name picked out for our first daughter." He softly takes my lips in his.
"Dahlia Bianchi." He says out loud as if to see how it will sound.
"I think it sounds gorgeous." I look into his beautiful brown eyes that are sparkling.
"Yeah?"
I nod kissing the corner of his lips.
"Fuck, I love you so much." He puts his lips over mine, kissing me hard.

We're in the middle of the pond floating on our wooden boat as I lay my head on my lover's shoulder while he holds me. The birds are still around and they're so peaceful to look at. They make me feel more tranquil than I already was with just being in Ace's arms.
"I want a beautiful princess like gown when we get married." I speak my mind, thinking of our future that seems to be so far from how desperate I am for it to come.
"Then that is what you will get." Ace kisses the top of my head.
"Where will we get married?" He questions softly running his hand up and down my back.
"A cathedral and there will be sunflowers in every empty space there is to give it a fairy tale like look." I immediately answer.
"You really do have everything planned out." He is smiling and I know it from his tone of voice.
"I want us to have the most magical and romantic wedding." I let him know and he kisses my head once more.
"And that is how it will be, amore." He assures me and seems to be very sure of it himself.
"What's your favorite cake flavor?" I ask, looking over at the swans who for a brief second make a heart with their heads.
"I don't know... I don't think I have one." He sounds as if he is just realizing it now.
I look up at him from his shoulder. "Then we will find out when we go cake tasting and that's the flavor our cake will be."
He lightly chuckles putting his lips on mine for a second. "And how would you like for me to look on our special day?"
He speaks against my mouth, lightly tugging on my bottom lip.
"A classic and basic black suit with a white shirt under. A bow tie would look quite nice and since I want lots of sunflowers at the reception then maybe a small sunflower pin on the pocket of the suit." I subconsciously put a hand to his chest where it would be.
"I like that." Ace stares right into my eyes. It's almost as if he is lost in them in some way and it makes me smile.
I could so easily get lost in his eyes as well. I could space out and spend my days admiring his pretty face or just simply be occupied with the thought of him.
"What season do you prefer?" I softly inquire.
"When were you born?" He responds just as softly.
"June."
"I love the summer." His quick revelation causes a big smile to burst on my face.
"I was thinking summer too."
