CHAPTER TWENTY SIX:
Greeting Mitsuri with a warm smile, Kyojuro's polite demeanor extended to Vivian as well, even though his inner thoughts revealed a different sentiment.
He acknowledged her presence with a polite nod, appreciating her effort to look impeccable for the occasion, despite his internal reservations.
"Woah-Kyojuro," Mitsuri's voice was as bubbly as ever, "you're looking so dashing in your formal wear!"
Kyojuro's cheeks tinged with a faint blush at the compliment, and he replied with a gracious nod. "Thank you, Mitsuri. You're as radiant as always."
"Hi, Kyo~" Vivian greeted, blush tinting her cheeks at the sight of Kyojuro Infront of her. "You look hotter than usual."
Vivian's greeting and flirtatious compliment caught Kyojuro off guard, and his discomfort was evident in his response-a polite nod and a somewhat forced "Thank you."
The dynamic between them was palpable, as Kyojuro struggled to navigate her forward manner of speaking.
Mitsuri's observant eyes didn't miss the small box in Kyojuro's hands, and her curiosity got the best of her.
She playfully nudged him and asked, "Kyojuro, what's in the box? A surprise for someone?"
"Oh-This?" Caught off guard and subconsciously reacting to her question, Kyojuro opened the box to reveal a delicate ring nestled within. "It's just a small gift for someone."
The sight of the ring prompted Mitsuri to gasp, her excitement bubbling over. "Oh my goodness, is that...? Are you planning to propose, Kyojuro?"
Mitsuri's assumption took Kyojuro by surprise, and he stammered slightly, "I... well, that's..."
Before he could formulate a response, Mitsuri's words carried across the space, catching the attention of none other than Vivian.
Her tone was a mix of surprise and curiosity as she interjected, "Excuse me, what?"
The unexpected interruption brought a moment of tension, as the atmosphere seemed to shift with Vivian's presence.
Kyojuro found himself standing at a crossroads, faced with the implications of Mitsuri's assumption and the potential consequences of revealing the truth behind the ring.
'Oh shit. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.'
Mitsuri's excitement and Vivian's surprise created a sense of urgency, and Kyojuro felt the weight of his decision bearing down on him.
Sensing the weight of the moment and the emotions swirling within him, Kyojuro made a quick decision.
He discreetly hid the tiny box in his hand and offered an explanation that deflected Mitsuri's assumption.
