I collapse onto the floor, a surge of agony coursing through me. My trembling hand clutches at my head, as if I could physically hold back the flood of emotions crashing over me.
The realization of what I've just done sinks heavily on my chest.
How could I have allowed myself to stoop so low?
How could I have forced myself on the woman I love?
Disgust and shame churn within me. The image of her tear-stricken face and her desperate cries replay in my mind, amplifying my self-loathing.
I'm a mess of conflicting emotions – the betrayal of her actions and the darkness of my own.
Tears stream down my face unchecked, the pain that's consuming me from within.
I feel like I'm unraveling, like I'm drowning in a sea of despair with no lifeline in sight. The walls of the room seem to close in on me, suffocating me as I struggle to breathe.
I want to scream. I want to let out all this anguish that's threatening to consume me. I want to cry until there's nothing left.
Until the very core of my being is empty.
But no matter how much I let it out, the pain persists, gnawing at my insides.
The images are burned into my mind, Joanna with him, their closeness. That kiss. His lips on my wife's neck. Her hands around him.
It's a reality I can't escape, a truth that's tearing my world apart.
The pain is unbearable, almost tangible. It's a suffocating weight that's crushing me.
A relentless torment that refuses to let go. I curl into myself, my body racked with sobs, as the darkness engulfs me further, a black hole from which there seems no escape.
